Been reading posts with interest, and have chosen to ship my parcel via Parcelbee, because of the excellent reviews! I have arranged pickup for tomorrow, and have just been shipped the forms. I am shipping a gift to the USA, and am a bit confused by the forms. I have been sent a "commercial invoice" to complete. Since this is not a commercial transaction, do I still complete them, but leave the parts which aren't relevant?

Thanks in advance for your help! x

All you need to complete are the bits you know:
    Who the receiver is,
    who the sender is
and the goods description, qty and value - ignore the rest.
If it asks for a VAT number write "none" rather than leaving it blank (assuming you are not VAT registered) and do not worry about all the boxes that make no sense to you.
Where it asks reason for export put "gift" if that is what it is.
The parcelbee form is to detailed for the average non business user but i suppose it is better to have the boxes and leave them blank than not to hav e them. Hope this helps.

I don't know, as they're using UPS for my parcel & this is the first time I've used them! Is it a bad thing?

Thanks Kayster for your very detailed and helpful response! :D

No, its not a bad thing. I was just curious, thats all. As from their tracking page, it seems like they deal with about five couriers. UPS are very reliable though IMO and I like my guy that drops parcels off and then picks them up the next day lol. The supplier send by UPS(the guy comes next day) I build the PC, arrange for a courier and the day after the same guy comes again. Nice chap, Ive got to say

  • Hi All,

I felt compelled to write here to warn you about what can go wrong. Right from the start as you will read some of the issues I experienced are my own doing some are not.

I sold an item on ebay for £220.
    Got paid.
Booked with myhermes and took out extra cover and signature upon delivery options.
Parceled it up real good and proper as it's electronics.
    Myhermes collected the item.

I bought another item with the money from the sale.

Next thing got a call from buyer saying item damaged.
Received a picture of the damage, yes it's pretty bad.

Thought to myself I have cover up to £250 I am OK.
Offerred refund to the buyer and arranged for pick up in person.

Made a claim with myhermes ....!!!! Supplied all the info and docs.

Bang!!! I am not insured. Why because the item is exlusion list, so you send it at your risk. Where is it say that? In the exlusion list you silly which is under another menu item (not even in terms and conditions).

Did I read it, did I sh!te. Should I have? YES! But how many of us do? Not many. Time is a factor, you are always too busy.

Even though technically myhermes is totlly within their rights to refuse the claim, them not telling this right from the start is against the spirit of the relationship between company and client (me).

I asked them to refund my delivery charges including my extra insurance cover, they refused. You accepted the terms and conditions.

IN OTHER WORDS IF YOU SEND ANY EXCLUSION LIST ITEMS YOU ARE SCREWED. THEY CAN TREAT IT ANY WAY THEY LIKE DAMAGE IT, OPEN IT, TAKE IT WHATEVER AND THEY ARE NOT LIABEL. SO THAT YOU KNOW.

    BEWARE.

    Thanks for listening.

  • Having used other discount couriers mostly Parcel2Go and not really having any problems i decided to try Parcel Monkey as they are currently cheapest.

I booked 3 parcels to be collected on same day however the postage label for one was never emailed to me, subsequently one parcel wasnt collected.

I contacted them via their contact us form (they dont have phone or live online support), suffice to say they hav`nt replied all day.......hopeless. Eventually late in the day i received the parcel label still stating collection that day (this was at 17.30!!!!!).

After calling the actual courier City Link i discovered the collection was now booked for the following day, which is inconvient as thats two days waiting in.

My main complaint was lack of cutomer service from Parcel Monkey, no email back or anything.......totally useless. As i paid via paypal i have now put this transaction into dispute and hope to get a refund through them.

Be careful Parcel Monkey may be the cheapest but dont expect any customer service AT ALL!!!!!!!

    Hi

Parcel Monkey do seem to have "lost" it recently, with lots of complaints etc.

I know I've mentioned this lot before (yawn), but collectmyparcel.com has always given me fantastic customer service, they may not be cheaper than Parcel Monkey for lighter parcels but theirs (£8.75) is the same price be it 1Kg or 30Kg. They have a telephone number on their homepage, answer e-mails wihtin minutes (so keep clicking Send & Receive there is usually an e-mail back) and regarding Packing Labels, Waybill/Consignment Labels and Commercial Invoices they are all automatically generated for you and even sent as links in the confirmation e-mail.

Not being funny but it really is that easy.

Just would like to say here, many people say this seller is good etc... however the true mark of a good seller is how they resolve problems when things go wrong. Thats why I said p2g have excellent customer service-well thats a bit basic, but that was a factor in me saying they do have good customer service
