have a FedEx service for £87.87
That only comes with £50 worth of insurance. Once you add on enough insurance to cover the saddle it will be much more.

Can anyone help with which transportation company/middle agent would be best for this please?
https://www.transglobal.org.uk are quoting £101.66 plus another £20 for £1000 of cover with UPS - you need to phone them if you want more cover than that.

    Hi,
I am hoping to send 9 identical items which, (when packaged together) weigh approx 25kgs in total, to one person via Parcelforce 24 booked on Paypal postage.
As the items all together are fairly bulky & heavy, can I spilt them into two packages and send under the same postage label as a consignment? Or would I need to pay for two seperate labels? I looked on Parcelforce's website and it says pacels can be up to 30kgs but it's not clear if I can split the total amount?
I hope that makes sense! Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    MM.

Thanks Custardy. I was hoping to save my back and the poor posties back, but looks like I'll have to fit them all in together.

I read through lots of these threads, and am now very confused! (Easily done).
I have googled couriers and got quotes from loads, but the prices are over £2-300. I have a Dressage saddle on eBay and have several people in USA that want it. (Ive sold there before and it used to be around £70) the problem I am finding is that its an excellent saddle and the reserve is £1500 with a buy it now at £1750, and I want to insure it accordingly.

The saddle fits in its own transport drum which is 49cm diameter and 85cm tall. The weight is 9.8kg.

It just so happens I saw this on the Parcelforce wesite the other day under packaging guidelines::

Any strapping around boxes is not suitable as this can get caught and cause damage to the parcel. Either place all items in one box or send them in separate parcels (all UK services, globalexpress and globalpriority offer competitive consignment pricing when several parcels are going to the same address).

No idea what the discounts are tho and no mention of how to find out... ring them up?

OK, my turn to ask a question. Have been selling privately on ebay for a while and always sold more bulky items on a collection only basis. Now I have sold 4 wooden lights, all to the same buyer, largest is 2ft x 2ft x 12" deep approx, the others about half the width/length. Am going to have to make a box/ boxes out of a number of other boxes (really looking forward to that) and for the first time use a courier/parcel service. I have absolutely no idea how to go about this. Local post office & Parcelforce was my first thought (hence the info I was able to give to the OP!) as I think it would be the easiest/safest option but am wondering whether I should be brave and venture into the unknown - is it worth it in my case?
  • It could be worth trying https://www.myhermes.co.uk or https://www.interparcel.com or https://www.collectplus.co.uk for you, there are some great savings and superior service to be had
