My question is......Is there a reseller who uses Citylink and who can offer a reliable and helpful service should a parcel go missing?

Is there a problem with asking that?

I do beg your pardon for sullying this board with my inane request.

If you want City link and do not want to use PM them www.gwizzcouriers.co.uk fit the bill and you get £300 free insurance. Gwizz are very responsive although i have to say PM are much improved in recent months

I've used ParcelMonkey several times recently with citylink, for items ranging from £130 to £580 and they have been brilliant, can't fault them.

Sorry but l have nothing but prasie for both Parcel Monkey and City Link. In the last 12 months l have only had 2 minor issues with City Link, one was due to them delivering 24 hours late, Parcel Monkey was quick to compensate me for that as soon as l rasied a ticket. The other issue was during the December backlogs which happened to all courier companies.

What l also like about using the same company i.e. City Link, you get to learn what there usual delivery/collection times are as you get used to the van driver and they get to know when your home i.e. school runs after all they prefer to deliver the parcel rather than take it back to the depot.
  • Hi everyone. Many thanks for your previous helpful advice. I hope you can help me with this one as well.

I run a small phone-fixing business and sometimes the client sends the phone via post and ask me to send it back. Normally, they want the phone quickly and of course the package must be insured given the value of the phone. So I normally use Royal Mail Special Next Day delievery. However, as I sent out arround 20 package last month, I wonder if there is anyway to buy wholesale a bunch of special delivery envelops or there is any other companies can do the same work at a cheaper price.(the phone is normally less than 500g and not too big in size, need to be delivered within 2 days and signed for, UK only)
    Thank you in advance

Hi, the only thing I can think of that may suit you is:

    http://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/bag-price

Not every one likes Parcel Monkey, mainly because of their support, but it's a very good price and may suit you...

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for that link (even though it wasn't for me), I've never seen that sort of service before and for some of my smaller items that might well be a service that I could use. I just need to read up all the terms and conditions although having seen some of the threads here and in other places I am a little worried about using PM.

I thought I'd post this for anyone who was thinking of shipping anything from the US that they wanted to buy in the US or just to avoid high shipping costs offered.

When I last went to the US, I bought an item of clothing, and discovered that I liked it so much, and it fitted so well, I wanted to buy another couple of the same, but you can't get them in the UK and when I found the shop I had bought it from in the US had a sale on, I was gutted as they did not deliver outside of the US (as many ebay sales won't also). After a bit of googling, I found shipito, who give you a US address of their warehouse (in torrance, ca) and you use this in your transaction and it arrives in their warehouse, they take some photos of it, and then send it on. You pay them $8.50 for the transaction, and then postage, but they seem to use cheapish carriers for the light parcels, so my total shipping bill came to $14.36 - it was 0.45kg parcel which was 14x9x5. My purchase ( a bit embarassingly) was for 2 maidenform lillyette aircurve bras from their US shop, which they had on sale for $10 each. So I ended up paying about £10 each per bra which I was delighted with. It took a while to come (around 4 weeks), and I am sure there might be people out there who want to take advantage of the US sales, but can't get the stuff posted to them. A couple of words of warning, it seems all retailers will not post to shipito (so check their exclusions), and the $8.50 is steep if the person selling the item is prepared to send it direct, but I found it very useful to purchase something that I simply could not obtain in the UK. I didn't go for any insurance or anything (given I only had a purchase of $20). I was also pleased with the tracking. I suspect the cheap postage options disappear if you don't do something so light also. Anyway, I have searched "shipito" on here and never got anything, so worth a thought, sal x

    Hi All,

I'll be using parcels2go in the next day or so to ship a laptop. I work in a business park so the question is do these parcel companies pick up your parcel from your place of work (office) or do they only pick up from home?
