Hello love
Just looking at this
Capital One - £361 at 24% apr paying £50/month Paid off!And cut up! And also closed!! no crazy aprs for me
Barclaycard - £2747at 19.9% apr paying £100/month Paid off and cut up!!
Virgin - £3360 at 15.9% apr paying £100/month Balance - Same
mint - £116 at 15.9% apr paying £50/ month Paid off!not cut up, as this will probly be the card i keep. it only has a £400 limit. also has some months 0% left on it so will probly use that
Lloyds tsb - £2650at 14.9% apr paying £100/mth same and foolishly spent on this!! will transfer to my new marbles card 0%
Egg Loan - £6756 at 7.7% paying £247/month Balance Same, chugging along with this. just trying to get the ccards sorted.
Id transfer the virgin balance to the marbles card as a) its bigger b) it has higher interest than the Lloyds one. Although call lloyds & say, you are thinking of moving it to 0% card youv got from marbles, but what can they offer you to stay? Also why would you want to keep hold of a card that if you DO spend on it ( im not too sure why you want to keep one? Security feeling?) to keep the mint one as it will charge you interest if you do fold & spend on it. Also if you have "empty cards" it will reuce your ability to get more 0% deals as you are "over-credited" I know its only 400 but I bet it makes a difference!!
Also looking at this Again, are you snowballing? ONly theresa spare 250 a month there thats going to the cards about to be cut up/ or whatever that you should be putting to your highest interest debt?
Go through quidco, theres a few CCs at 0% you can get a bit of cashback on:beer:
HUn you are going to be out of debt in NO TIME:T :T:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Just reading through last few pages you're doing SOOO well!! You do need to pace yourself though & allow some dosh for those nights out...how about putting 80% of money made through quidco etc to debt & keeping 20% for you? I had a real urge to spend on an MP3 player (which I didnt need as I have a perfectly good walkman!) last week & realised that I was feeling fed up as worked so hard to make money (750 up on stuff sold etc this month!) ...fortunately desire was satieted when my TV broke so had great fun running round to get a bargain (not online as didnt like the thought of posting a TV which may be silly?)....just pace yourself and factor in treats, that way you still save money but dont feel like you've been locked in a monistary! Just look at your signiture for goodness sake...fab & well done you! Have a drink for me!! Big hugs...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! hi guys, thanks so much for your words of encouragement.
yes fishface, i'm going to pace myself. but i had to be extra strict with myself, because i have such a history of irresponsible spending. i suppose now i have to strike the balance.
well lynz, i didn't make myself clear. the lloyds was a 0% bt one i got, that i transferred a balance onto and then went and spent a couple hundred on. that's the only reason i'm transferring that one. i've still got about 6 months 0% left on the lloyds, so if i transfer the lloyds balance onto the marbles card, then transfer the virgin balance onto the lloyds card, then i'll be back in 0% territory. i'm not closing the barclaycard account just yet, because they offer promotional 0% bts every once in a while, so when i run out of time on the lloyds and the marbles i could use that. only keeping them open until i pay them off. as far as i see that means i only have 2 credit cards paying off at the minute (lloyds and marbles), which willl close when i pay them off.
i heard somewhere that closing credit card accounts adversely affects your credit rating. is this true? since i just closed my cap one account, should i wait a while before closing any of the others?
this is all going to slow down considerably, as i've nearly collected most outstanding money owed to me, have a few hundred here and there. now it's just a matter of plugging away diligently at the remaining debt. can't wait until i can start to tackle the loan.
thanks again everyoneMFW Newbie - #17. (#116 in 2019)

Im fairly sure the answer to this is NO. Close whatever accounts you have that you can. Yes, you dont want to be "nowhere" with no availble debt, but I think the more credit you have open to you the less you will be offered. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Agree with Lynz. Some companies look at total credit available to you, so closing accounts improves the situation.
