OH's been into town for a short walk and brought some sweets just in case we get any door knockers tonight. Sometimes we do and if they've made an effort with their costumes or they're little kiddies with their mums they we dish out the goodies but not if its just kids playing the fool. Trouble is, the sweets he's bought aren't the sort I'd like if no-one turns up................lol
Just our luck..........we get sweets in and no one comes, when we don't the doors knocking all the time.
Glad you sound so positive but please..........give yourself some 'me' time................it's so important honest:o

Don't feel guilty for taking that time for yourself, you an an amazing person doing a hell of a lot and you deserve it.
My in laws sometimes have my little ones and I get strict instructions from them to use the time off to sit around and do nothing lol
The housework can wait and will still be there tomorrow, in fact it is usually there tomorrow even if you do it today!

Keep up the good work you are doing great and such an inspiration :A(we're the same age!). I too am bowled over by the amazingly supportive community on here, what would we do without onilne forums lol

    Hi Hob,

I haven't checked in on your thread for a few weeks, but it sounds like you're doing really well. I think you did exactly the right thing in sitting down and watching a film for a while - it will do you good, and as others have said - the housework can wait! ;)

I don't know if you've seen a website called www.mysupermarket.com ? it's really good, and shows you what offers the main supermarkets have. I use it for planning my shopping, but it could also show you where's best / cheapest for those xmas goodies :D

I'd like to send you a few bits and pieces for pampering yourself. I'm an AVON lady (cue the "bing bong, AVON calling" jokes!!:rotfl:) so have lots of products and samples floating around. I'll PM you.....

    Ali xx

hob - don't worry about taking time out for yourself........I've lost count of the number of times I've had every good intention of doing something 'domestic' and done something that pleases me more instead............the world didn't come to an end so does it matter ? No.........not in my book anyway..............:j

    hob - you;re going great guns............keep at it...........:j
We've got one of those 'henrys'.............OH's idea when he was in better health so he used to do it.......my back just wouldn't stand it. Now neither of us can do it so I've got a young girl comes in once a week................oh bliss ! I'm such an untidy messy person I feel I ought to tidy up a bit before she comes so it gets me a little bit motivated.

Just sat and twined some gold stars round my little 'soft trees'.............even OH approves..........lol and its got me feeling a bit more festive.:j and your enthusiasm for it all helps no end............:j
    Bless you x

Hi op been reading your thread.
Can I just say what a wonderful person you are to do such a lovely thing for your brother.
My Brother is a resident in a mental rehab unit comes home at weekends, but will soon be giving a bedsit of his own and at the mo has my parents around, but one day it will be down to me and I love him to bits and would do what you are doing for your brother..

I have some spare boys pressies as well as a cat kitten stocking that is no longer needed if you would like that would happily post them to you..

  • Hey, i just wanted to say what a great job you are doing. Another site that i might suggest to you is www.gumtree.com it has a freebies section in it, which has anything from cookers to pictures. Might help.

Anyway good luck with christmas, hope you and your brother have a good one. :D
