Ooooooh Gill - that's an idea...
I think you should skip forward on MG's diary, go straight to her blog if you haven't already and maybe harness some of that thinking.....
Obviously, there are finances to think about - but you've seen me do it (though we've yet to see if we can actually do it for real) - perhaps this is an opportunity??
Sorry about the more difficult stuff - hugs to you x0 -
I agree with MacGirl - go straight to MG's homepage and start working your way through the challenges... that is what I am currently sat here doing... while watching concert for heroes and hoping that I get the washing done on time!!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Evening all - have been doing a fair bit of reading and lots to think about. There need to be long term plans, and (I've forgotten how I wanted to end this sentence........)
It's been a mad busy day in work, I've put in 10 hours today, that's without travel time. But it should all be worth it as something that I've been working on all week finally clicked into place at about half four.
Have come home today to what I thought was junk mail. But.. have an offer from dca for one of the old cc's that I am reluctantly paying. Just a bit of history, these were incurred by my ex on our joint account, in the week after I moved out. He subsequently went bankrupt and should have included his half of this debt, but 'forgot' , like he forgot a few others, so it was left to me, so they have only been getting spare money. Now have an full and final offer which is 25% of the balance. Need to check what is showing on credit report.
And I am strangely please to have junk mail from my trade union and am sadly excited that I get to vote for the new Labour leader. I'd forgotten about the block vote thingy. It's mainly been a soap opera carried out on the telly for other people, but now I feel like it involves me too.:T
Tea tonight is going to be roasted veg with jacket potato. So have put 4 potatoes in the oven, overall cost of £1 for veg and 50p for spuds. That should be enough for tonight, then some extra for lunch tomorrow and then can take the spuds in to have with salad or beans, so for an overall cost of £2 have food for 4/5 meals. May even be able to use some to add to pasta. Bargain.
Brother's OH has bought herself a new freezer so is emptying the one she has and so is going to bring me some containers of fruit, so will see what I can make out of them. Have spent some unintended money tonight, forgot to post earlier. On the way home from work, called into HMV to get a voucher and nipped into Evans for the sale. Got a formal suit jacket for £20. Consider it money well spent as have 3 pairs of trousers from there, so can make the pants and shirt ensemble that I normally wear look a bit smarter. Also means I can wear some of the tops that are too casual for work, but will be ok with a jacket over.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning to anyone reading,
up at sparrows whatsit this morning, normal for me to be awake, but don't generally get up, but need to be in work for 8. Another long day looms.
Really odd situation to be in, have people who owe me money, DS, one of his friends, my mum. So technically skint, but have money coming back in later in the week. Its a long time since I've had enough spare cash to be able to do that, and also a long time since I could punch numbers in the cash machine without my fingers crossed. Why? because I know to the nearest couple of quid how much is in the bank, and how much of it is 'mine'.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
