Drat! I missed the Bake Off! I love that programme - perfect Sunday viewing.
Well done for being so controlled in Ikea. I only get away with buying what I need (or nothing) if DH s with me. As soon as I say "Oh, that's nice....." He grips me by the elbow and steers me round the shop to the exit - gutted!
Hope you enjoyed your M&S tea you big lush0 -
The ikea marketers would have a field day in our house - a lot of our furniture is ikea! plus a lot of our storage solutions...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I have promised myself that once the big declutter is really and truly finished, I will buy something nice from IKEA. In the meantime I console myself with crockery or the cheap cardboard storage boxes.
M&S dinner was yummy and there was leftovers so that was last nights tea sorted.
Quiche and salad for the last 2 days for lunch, so relatively cheap and not necessarily fattening - or at least I'm trying to convince myself that way.
DS has delved into the cupboard under the stairs again and found a bag of ironing that I 'tidied' at Christmas. It's gone straight in the charity bag. If we haven't worn it for 9 months, we don't need it! Its looking so much better under there now. He has also 'donated' to me his old computer, I bought it for him through a scheme at work so its a really good spec. but he rarely uses now he has a laptop. Will be good to use for office type stuff. I love this little netbook but the screen is very small if you are working on spreadsheets etc.
Now all he has to do,is finish clearing the dining room so I've got somewhere to put it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hurray to clutter free homes and minds and M&S dinners! :T0

I'm sure I posted yesterday but it seems to have disappeared.
Well the project I have been working on went into production yesterday. Seemed to go OK other than a few niggles because 'people' made changes to processes. They had all been discussed with the staff who were doing the job, which is good, but they never thought to tell anyone else, and so were surprised when the system didn't work the way they had tested it! Grrrr!
Got home to find the house in sort of chaos. DS ex GF had called down with her baby (not his!) and she is presumably a toddler, rather than a baby - he didn't know, as she is at that stage where she keeps picking things up and giving them to people. My house isn't exactly baby friendly, ornaments and candles etc. in the hearth, ornaments at toddler height; so DS kept moving things out of her reach, but the main things I couldn't find were the remotes for the TV, and the hands free phone.
I've only got £1.50 left in my purse - mainly because DS borrowed £20 to buy pizza last night, so I'll get that back. I'll have to park in the free car park today, which means a bit of a walk, but its not that far that its not do-able.
Need to start looking at some of the ideas on other diaries, have been trying to read some of my old motivational and management books, but this is quite a difficult time of year for me. This time last year, I lost my job. It is also my Dad's birthday at the weekend, and the anniversary of his death. Talking to my brother and sister a while ago, we all feel differently about him. My brother is angry with him, my sister feels guilty for various reasons, and I have regrets about things that happened on the day he died. We should be able to get past these, but for some reason, haven't.
Thats a bit deep for this time in the morning, sorry if anyone has read this far...Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Anniversaries are always difficult! Especially the first year! Perhaps journal in a private note book how you feel - and see whether when you've written it down it is still how you feel or not... then perhaps write down the new feeling... perhaps write down some questions you would like answered and see if your subsconscious answers them over the following few days....
Only you know whether you want to quietly remember or vigorously forget the anniversary. do what's right for you even if that doesn't suit other relatives....

thanks SH - as you say, need to do whats best for me. I just think it strange the way we all see the same traumatic event in different ways.
I think I need to work out what is going on in my head.
On another front, got some very positive feedback in work today, and its unlikely that any of the new posts will be filled before november, so its likely I'll still be here for a while unless I decide to move on.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Aww, hugs to you x I am fortunate to still have both my parents so wouldn't like to offer any advice.
I'm sure no matter how relations were, it is still incredibly difficult
Good news about the work feedback - at least it's a bit more security in a place you enjoy working.
For something different, I'd recommend reading Memorygirl's thread Gill. There is quite a buzz around it at the moment and you might find it interesting to check out her homepage0 -
Hi Gill
Hugs again... Glad things are going well at work...
Memory girl's thread is definitely worth a read I think she would be right up your street!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks both
I started reading memorygirls thread, but it will take me a while to catch up.
Payday today, so have moved money round, I'm sure there is something BIG I've forgotten about. I need to keep my spreadsheet up to date as the problem with being weekly paid is having to leave money in an account to pay bills, so it looks more than it is until the bills come out. Fairly certain that they've all come out by now though, so just need to allow for the loan. Can't make extra payments on the loan, they only accept DD or card payments, and you can only make card payments by ringing up and speaking to them, and they try to sell you stuff so its a pain.
I must update sig, put a LB total debt and what it is now, rather than the individual amounts I've been concentrating on. That worked when unemployed. but isn't working so well for me now.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
