Connection in hotel still not very good, I think it's because lots of people share it. Sometimes its better than others.
Doing well on the food at the moment, cup a soup and roll for lunch, fruit and toast for brekkie, and salmon salad for tea.
Spends so far yesterday and today- other than petrol - ZERO
I had a 'strange' half hour last night when I tried to contact KC with a message about her computer and then wasn't sure I had the right number. It was in a notebook on the same page as DT's number and NorthernLas but had no name, but I don't know anyone else in that area. I wasn't sure though if it was her new number, until someone on here let me know the dialling codes. So I've just spoken to her, and passed on everyones messages and we had a bit of a catch up.
I've also just spoken to Mum who has lost the key to her back door - or rather it was in the door until my sister arrived earlier and did some tidying. So its probably been tidied, so will look for that tomorrow.

Hi Gill - must be disappointing for you with the internet going up and down. Glad you managed to catch up with KC tho and good to know that someone else is helping out with your mum....

Yay its Friday, 4 days off!
But....I'm bored with this 'ere wedding already and the coverage hasn't even officially started on the beeb. I switched the telly on for the news and it was full of talking to people who'd camped out etc. Is there no other news in the entire world?
Money stuff, DS finally got his holiday pay from work, but is seriously !!!!!! off with HSBC as every time he uses his debit card online, it gets blocked, as does his internet banking. So he had no idea it was there.
I got 2 weeks pay this week, so have been very good and put half in the tax account. I've paid everything out and actually have 100 ish, left so quite a happy bunny as that is well more than I normally spend. Budget for today is 45, so off shopping in a bit.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

            :hello: Hiya!
Thank you so much for your help with the message on my thread, Gill - and I feel v v bad not to have rung you back after Our Family Wedding
I got my tv working again yesterday, like I mentioned, and to be honest I was bored with the wedding coverage after about 30 minutes, which I was surprised at - *completely* repetitive tho
but I have watched it this morning - I've been hopping around doing stuff too, and updating the computer now I've got it back - it was a dodgy adaptor lead, after all that! But I'm still going to stop automatic updates tho, this all seems very fragile compared to my sturdy little Dell.
Hope you're enjoying the time off still - and that you've found your mum's key! Tidying away is *so* problematic!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Had a flash of inspiration there, sister keeps her back door key in a little pot on the window ledge, Mum keeps hers just on the worktop. Lo, and behold, it was in a teapot! Mum would never have put it there, sister denies it all:rotfl:
Glad you've got your computer back up and running.
I confess to watching a bit of the wedding, just to see the frock. I liked her frock, much better than Diana's which I always think looked incredibly creased. More like Princess Anne's. And the single piece of whatever for the veil was lovely.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

That frock was very classy, wasn't it ....
On the computer, I forgot to say - because it was only the adaptor, I didn't lose the Liverpool pix after all. I can't tell you how happy I was about that!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Haven't done much today really, and also not spent much.
Was pleased to find that the market was open, hadn't expected it to be, although it wasn't very full. Its only held on a Friday so I normally miss it. Got some salad stuff and eggs, and a bit of a wander round, amazing what you can get if you're not too fussy (!) Picked up some wool, so will be looking out my patterns.
So spends so far, less than a tenner. Tomorrow, Mum wants to go food shopping because although I do her shopping she doesn't get to wander round and pick things out for herself. I hate shopping so I just charge round, so may drag sister in on this.
I've also started to catch up on the final series of Heroes, because somehow I missed the last couple of episodes. I also watched the episode of Red Dwarf with my favourite ever quote:-
Rimmer " go to red alert"
Kryton " are you sure sir? It does mean changing the light bulb"
Class.

            Busy day today.
Did kitchen, bathroom, hoovered, and ironing; all by half eight this morning. Also 2 bin bags for charity shop.
Played with sewing machine, made some cushion covers with material I got at market yesterday. Sewing machine was my nan's so has been adapted from a treadle, and has long shuttles not round ones, and is a bit temperamental.
Sister picked me up and we went to Mum's, did some pottering, tidying etc. then took her to Asda. It's hard work pushing one of those wheelchair trolley things. Mum got lots of shopping, I spent a fiver. Then we had lunch and did some weeding in Mum's garden.
I then went to Mr M and spent 20 quid so not done too bad this weeekend.
Trying to watch Dr Who, but just can't get the gist of it at all. Tea is salmon fishcakes, new potatoes and tomato salad ( I will shift this weight somehow)
Tomorrow, cousin is picking Mum up and taking her to visit Auntie (cousin's mum) in Formby, so have the day to myself. It all depends on the weather really.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I remember my nan having a treadle! My very cool young uncle, who was then about 16, mended his jeans on it, I can see him now
They must be amazing to actually use. I watched Dr Who too, for the first time in I don't know how long, and the first fifteen minutes were *totally* incomprehensible, but I like the supporting characters, and Matt Smith seems to have calmed down a bit, so I stayed with it.
And now, my laptop *still* works :j so I'm just keeping an eye on Confidential until Top Gear comes on, at which stage its all eyes on the other little screen
Hope you have a nice day tomorrow, whatever you decide to do.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Gill sounds like you are being very good money-wise. Glad you are having help with your mum so you get chance to relax too. I didn't watch the wedding at all - I slept thro it!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
