Getting out of my comfort zone

Went for a long walk last night, well according to my stepper, it was 4000 steps so not too bad, no idea how far that is, but at least I have a measure other than time.
Have done banking as need to move money to pay hotel bill. am now leaving most of money in tax saver account and moving it as I need it, have also set up regular payments to ISA (can't believe I've got one:T)
In my new 3 days a week contract now, so go home tonight, which will feel really weird, but gives me all of tomorrow free, rather than just the afternoon, and then a few hours in the old job on Friday, which I can probably do from home - need to ring and check.
Looks a bit dull outside, but at least its dry.
Have a good day.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Here's to loose trousersgilligansyle wrote: »I'll never get the hang of this online betting malarkey! Managed to back 2nd and 4th in the National, so by my reckoning either broke even or lost a couple of quid, but I've made a couple of quid. It must be the different SP's or something.
Did you lay a bet or just bet normally on two horses?
Busy day yesterday, new office etc. I have to hot desk so that's a bit odd. Yesterday was sat at 'casey's' desk
Oi! :rotfl::D:rotfl::D:rotfl::D
Walked to Zumba, got caught in hailstorm on the way back and then watched Waking the Dead. So I guess there's a spin off series??
Oops and never had anything to eat
Hurray to zumba, boo to the hailstorm, and "!!!!!!?" to forgetting to eat **again**!!! I'm concerned
Today my car was blocked in the hotel car park, wouldn't have mattered last week as I walked to work, but didn't fancy 3 miles with laptop etc. So got the bus, which was odd, as I had absolutely no idea where i was!
A little adventure, as Cheery and Pippi would say
Spends yesterday 4.00 Zumba - 65p for bottle of water because forgot one.
Today 2 lots of 1.90 bus fare and a fair amount of walking. (still got no pound sign)
I really must start throwing more money at credit card, but feel like I'm having more effect by putting it off mortgage. Annual statement should be due soon, so will update sig with total.
What does The Snowball say?
I don't know if I've lost any more weight as I don't have scales, so can only weigh myself at sister's, but trousers feel looser, so may get the tape measure out and keep a record that way.
Off out for a walk in a bit.
which sounds a bit rude
Wow! Seriously impressive... Much less travel time, much more ability to sort stuff cos you're at home, less travel money going out .... all sounds good.gilligansyle wrote: »Have done banking as need to move money to pay hotel bill. am now leaving most of money in tax saver account and moving it as I need it, have also set up regular payments to ISA (can't believe I've got one:T)

Waves to KC:wave:
it just made me laugh, sitting at the desk, but shes a tall skinny 20 something brunette.
I'm up at silly time, but need to decide what to do with my day :j
You're right KC, I think I may have layed one of them, as it was a long shot, but was starting to come up in the betting. I need to check the actual transactions - need to use sons PC for that as mine gets upset about java etc.
Off to check banking and read FW stuff.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

You know about the little software called "matchers", don't you? Cos laying against a normal bet is a *good* thing, but you have to sort out how much to lay with the software, its too complicated otherwise.
I'm about to start rushing about again - I was unpacking the food processor at 6.30 or so, then I stopped while I ate my breakfast - watched the beginning of Harry Potter 6, as Amazon have just informed me that my Harry DVD has shipped

You always sound so disciplined with money - well done you. Hope your mortgage statement gives you a lift! Good that you are doing so much exercise - that has got to help with everything I would have thought
Glad you now have a bit more time for yourself - life will hopefully feel more balanced again
KC - we bought harry potter dvd last night - hoping to watch it tonight. but read the books loads and saw it at the cinema so not really any surprises lolAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

SH - I don't think I'm disciplined with money at all, I feel like it gets away from me. With the extra 2 days it will probably be a while before everything settles, as there is Easter and all those bank holidays, when I wouldn't have been in work anyway. I normally don't do much on Thursday's as by the time I get home, and then shop, and see Mum, I am absolutely shattered. It will be after Easter before I drop the Friday.
Today, I have sort of pottered, sorted out stuff for charity shop, and decided that some of the material was quite good so I kept it. My bedroom will be an oasis of calm - one day - but first I had to fix the curtain rail. It was never perfect, but if I keep moving the curtains e.g. to open windows, then it keeps falling down. I've also found lots of half empty pots of emulsion paint, mainly white, but a bit of a sort of beige colour thats in the living room. I may mix them all together to get a consistent shade of white and get DS to give the whole place the once over.
KC - re the betting thing, I just did what son's friend told me to do. I was on son's PC which they use to put bets on the footie, so I guess they have something on there.
Spent the afternoon with Mum, cleaned some of her cupboards out, and started to dig over a corner. She has a huge corner garden, and so I'm going to put some veg in it and make use of it.
I took some wool and crochet hooks up to Mum as she's bored and wants to do something with her hands to stop herself smoking.
Spends today - 70p on 4 jacket spuds to go with the curry I'm cooking for tea. I bought some lovely sundried tomatoes in a jar, and some pesto and mozarella - total cost 2.50Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

That explains it then, on the not-matched betting - check out the links on here to get the little software doo-dad. I don't have it on this computer, I don't *think*....
Those spends are really good! Excellent value for money

You always sound like you're spending very small amount of money and feeling guilty over it? Perhaps you need to be kinder to yourself - and just track whether or not you are in budget

Just a thought
I think I manage on the little stuff, and the groceries, its the big stuff that gets away from me the things I can't really control, petrol, hotel bills, so they are where all my money goes. I need to keep track of the little things, just so I feel a level of control. One of the advantages of being paid weekly into my business account is that its easy to budget, I just transfer the money I need into my normal accounts.
So yes SH I do stay in budget, but as the cost of petrol goes up it gets harder to make the savings. I should also take a leaf out of your book and allow myself treats.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
