Where did the weekend go?
Well sister rang on Saturday, she was fed up and carless, so we went to the blue and yellow Swedish shop.
Plan was to get some blinds for bathroom and kitchen, but they didn't have any cheap ones.
Sewing machine will be busy, as I bought some material to make blinds. Enough material for 2 blinds and maybe something left for cushions, only a tenner - I could have got material cheaper elsewhere, but that's where I was and that's the sort of price you pay there.
As for the social life, am off out to a Zumba class with a colleague from work, so will see how that goes. It should at least be a laugh.
I am only working away 3 days this week, so Wednesday I am going to singing club.
Also bought a little chest of drawers for DS, not been able to get from anywhere else as needs to be quite shallow to fit on the landing, or in the tiny gap behind his door.
We also had a cuppa and cake and a natter, so all good.
Sunday was spent on the phone to Mum...she rang me to ask what I wanted her to leave to me in her will
 , so then I rang sister, who had the same conversation. OK, fair enough, but then she rang again and she'd forgotten about the previous call. Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Still have the phone, have been 'constantly' relly visiting and still have fogotten!!! Will try harder

The shopping sounds good, yes ... the "what do you want" conversation is inevitable but not pleasant - and then to have to have it twice is *very* unpleasant.
Glad you've got zumba and choir to look forward to, at any rate.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hi kc
yes its not the best conversation to have and I wasn't too bothered, she does this on a regular basis, draws up lists etc. It was the fact that she forgot she'd rung me, and over something as big as that.
Zumba was a real good laugh. Went with colleague from work, I'd thought about doing something to kill my time here, and she wanted to go and none of her mates were interested. Everyone else was at the same stage, total beginners, so we were all uncoordinated together. I was really tired though when I got back and fell asleep watching telly.
Other than the zumba class, no money spent yesterday. Today, planned to go to Asda, but ended up in a meeting with lunch provided, so saved again. Need to go out soon though and have something, as a couple of sandwiches won't keep me going all night.
Finishing at 5 tomorrow and back home, early for a change. Then straight to singing club, so will see how that goes too.
This is beginning to sound like I've got a life

The Will conversation sounds difficult, but like KC said - inevitable
My Mum told me what was in their Will, but asked me not to tell any of my siblings - talk about a burden...
The zumba and singing club sound great! You DO have a life - enjoy your short week

Yes you do have a life! Macgirl - oh my word, that is a burden.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi gilli - sorry to hear about the hassle your son is having at work, there's nothing worse than hating where you work/having a bad atmosphere. Hope he finds something else soon.
On the other hand glad to see you're getting out and about. Have fun at singing club.

Hi to anyone who's passed by.
I am soooo tired at the moment, and really need to give myself a kick as I just couldn't be bothered this morning so tied my hair back, and it makes me look so old. I want to learn how to do a proper 'chignon' type style, as at least that will look more elegant. Not that I'm an elegant shape.
My sister is 50 next week, and for her real present I have applied for tickets in the Wimbledon ballot, but won't know yet whether I've got any. If not, we'll just go away for the weekend. But I wanted to get something to give her on the day, and her OH has bought her a new Radley bag, so thought I'd pop into the shop in Cheshire Oaks. !!!££££££:eek::eek:the price of things!!!!! And that's the outlet store! Got her a notebook, but OMG:eek:
I've also made some bath salts and a few soaps with rose petals in, not sure whether to give her those or not.
errm what else, oh yes, DS has had meetings with area manager etc. about the situation in work. Unlikely anything will happen, in fact has probably made things worse, but he feels better for having done something. He is now thinking of other options, what he can do as a business etc.

Just think 'What would Coco Chanel' do and then you will always be elegant? Or for the opposite effect think 'What would Deirdre Barlow do' LOL'The road to a friends house is never long'0
