Oh great minds must think alike. I was thinking about a coffee maker today - DH suggested getting one - but now I've been brainwashed in the DFW styley, I don't think I can justify the expense :o

Well I made a start on the ironing, but got loads done in the launderette, 3 sets of bedding and 4 bath towels, not very MSE, but quicker than having it around the house for days trying to get it dry. So that's all done and away.

Have done a bit of mooching on the internet, looking at coffee makers, but the choice is amazing. I should have gone window shopping as town would have been empty, usually is on derby day.

It was really emotional watching the beginning of the game, friend who was there said there was a brilliant atmosphere, which makes a change.

I've also sorted out all my expenses etc. and have promised myself I will keep up to date.

Up to date expenses are good, as are coffee makers :) And now that I have a normal size house, I'm really starting to understand why driers became so popular :o and thats just with me in the place....

When (if) my washer ever goes, I'll get another washer/dryer. I had one when DS was tiny, and it lasted me until he was 14, so not too bad. I got the washer because I was living in a bigger house at the time. This one has lasted me 10 years, so have had my money's worth out of it too! My mum has offered to swap her washer dryer with me, but its not really fair as her's is far newer than mine.

Expenses are all listed now, and all the receipts are in A4 pockets for each month. I doubt anyone will ever check the receipts, but they are there anyway. Have to check on things like printer ink and pen drive, whether I can claim for them.

Will carry on dreaming about coffee makers, and decide on a budget.

Sounds good. When I had the bigger house, I had room to let a clothes maiden stand, without interfering in where I wanted to walk, or what I wanted to use a room for. Now, with a smaller house that still doesn't have everything where I want it, thats just not possible. It will be tho!

At home I do filter, but if I'm out treat myself to cappuccino, but its a pain to do at home. So if I could get a really nice coffee maker that made good espresso, and had the steamer bit for frothing, that would be ace. I know you can do it with a whisk but its never the same.

KC, thats exactly it, I can have a clothes maiden if I don't need to use the room for anything else. I do use it for small stuff, but can't do things like bedding, without having them draped all over the banisters etc. and I hate that.

Off to Shropshire, have a meeting at 10, in another office, so no point going in and then leaving, may as well go in later.

Catch up later. Have a good day if you're reading.

Have a good one yourself - I wonder if you're starting to see new growth in the countryside? My hazel tree has new little leaves from the buds, just in the last four or five days, its lovely!

Everything still looking a bit sparse on my route, but have got all sorts starting to 'pop up' in the pots at home. Pity it rained at the weekend as I could have got out there and done loads.

I've had jacket spud cheese and beetroot salad for lunch, taken from home, so don't feel hungry at the moment, but if I don't eat I'll regret it later as I'll be hungry when its too late to get anything. So off out in a bit.

Telly viewing tonight is probably Silent Witness, and have brought a crochet hook and some wool. No idea what I'm going to make, will just start and see what happens, its years since I did any so will end up doing squares.

Really enjoying the new cheap audio books, so will keep looking for more. The most expensive one was £3.99 so quite good there.

  • Boo hiss, may have to get a new mobile, am on contract and its expired so should be able to upgrade for free. This one (nokia n85) has never had a good battery, at least not compared to the trusty 3210; but lately its been really bad. Today was on phone to ds when the battery started beeping at me, put it on charge, unplugged it to drive the mile to the hotel, and it wasn't charged. Have just been out, and it died. It says its charging, but as soon as I unplug it, there's no charge in it.
