Getting out of my comfort zone

I don't have sky at home, but we do love our sport, so I have pomised DS that if I can incorporate it easily into the budget for the new house we will consider it this year.

But, whatever, the boys did what they needed to do,......and winning the ashes is a whole lot better than just retaining them
I'm fortunate that DS pays for it, and because of the way the packages work out, it means I also get extra programmes too! When things were dire and I needed to cancel it, we worked out how he could do it,so he has had it but on the upstairs telly, but he got me a box thing that means I can watch the same programme. There's something about 'quality' charity shopswe have an area that is better than most, and you definitely get a nicer degree of tat!
May wander your way NL
Have had a horrid day, as was at other job, but left glasses at home. Didn't realise how much I needed them, I can see my computer screen, but its hard work and I now have a headache. DS has offered to phone for take out, and to pay, so not an offer to be refused
Have had my first bill as a company, for the PAYE/NIC for my employee 'Miss G ' - the grand sum of (drum roll) £24 - I think I can manage that one
Not sure whether to PAD the HMRC stuff or not. Will have to think, if I didn't pay then it would be a debt, but at the moment its just a bill, like the phone.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

food was yummy. He had pizza, I had chicken kebab, think that wasn't too fattening. Nice just to sit in and eat.
Have done a fair amount of tidying today, kitchen, bathroom, hoovering, stripped beds, 2 lots of washing etc. etc. so am sitting down and chilling.
Just went to local shops this morning, but it was a bit of a trek as there is some sort of police cordon, loads of roads blocked off.
Got a bargain though, ready made pizza dough (jus rol stuff) and tomato sauce, for 25p, fresh basil for 40p and mushrooms for 10p. So I can make sort of little pizza things and freeze them, 75p and around 4 meals! And proper posh loo roll 9 rolls for £2.50 ish.
DS is off out for the night, so have the house to myself. I may defrost the freezer, as 'someone' didn't close the door properly and its all iced up.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

:rotfl: gilli - 'someone' does things like that in my house all the time.
Leave every light in the house on - check
Conveniently forget to empty overflowing kitchen bin (but also attempt to put stuff in it anyway) - check
Leave dirty dishes lying in the kitchen for the dishwashing fairy - check
Leave clothes behind them every step of the way in the door - check
Leave food lying out (a big no-no in our house with 3 greedy cats that will eat anything not shut away from them ) - check
Hmm, that turned into a bit of a rant. :rotfl: And I don't even have children...:eek:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Oh dear! And definite yikes to a police cordon, hope its something comparatively boring like a false alarm, not anything real/serious. Those are really good reductions you got hold of - can I suggest tho, that you *not* use a night on your own in your own home to defrost the freezer!!! I know it would be convenient and all that, but .... I'd rather think of you as relaxing, or even doing the Shred dvd, than that!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

thanks sashy and KC
I didn't defrost the freezer, will do it tomorrow morning instead. It'll give me a chance to sort food out for the week too.
Shred DVD :eek:MOI!!! I think not
As for the cordon, it wasn't a false alarm, and some roads are still closed - story here: we really live in interesting times.
Oh yes and someone has left the Christmas tree outside the front door, rather than taking it across the park to the 'pen' so now I may've missed my chance to get rid of it properly.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Glad to hear you're not defrosting the freezer
Hi mac,
thought I'd leave the late night housework to you!
Contents of freezer now sat by the back door in the poly boxes my Christmas delivery from the farm came in. F/F switched off, and have left fridge door shut, so that should be ok for a while, and the freezer door is open. I think the seal has gone a bit as freezer is often iced up, but is supposedly frost free (whatever that means!)
It'll take a while to start, but that's when I get impatient and attack it with the hairdryer
Grill pan also soaking in washing powder, and gunk sprayed on oven shelves.

I have a big American fridge freezer that I brought with me from my old house.....but the new house has a built in FF so my American one is in my garage.....with the intention it will be filled with things that will help me in my quest to eat well, cook more, and be more MSE eg batch cooked stuff blah blah blah.
But at the moment I can't even get to it! And I really should get it properly cleaned out too while it is empty.....and before I fill it again...
