Getting out of my comfort zone

Don't do too much - thats a lurgy you've got. I sensed I was getting better yesterday, when the meal in the pub didn't make me feel like I wanted to die, but I couldn't have done another thing, not even write a card in the car on the way back, which is what I was supposed to do
take care of yourself.

I agree. Stay in, keep warm and forget the housework, it will still be there next weekend (and the weekend after that etc etc
)
Take care xx0 -
Went out to the co-op, spent the grand total of £11 and seem to have got loads (but some of it was chocolate). Have done some ironing, but have hidden the ironing under the stairs and done it in small bursts of half a dozen items at a time.
Mainly I've sat on the sofa, tried to find the VAT paperwork and failed. Apparently I should have something that says I'm eligible for the 'flat rate scheme' but I don't remember receiving it. Anything from HMRC etc. gets chucked in a box when it arrives, and then I copy them and pass them on to the accountants, so maybe its still stuck in the Christmas backlog.
Back to Shropshire tomorrow, DS is under instructions to start taking the Christmas tree down. Whether he'll remember or not.... he's on some odd shifts this week.
I've got a lovely new holdall for Christmas, as I was stuck between a really nice holdall that was too big, or a sports bag which was too small. Its also got lots of little sized toiletries, so shall enjoy playing with them.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I went to the co-op too but spent 3 x as much! It's for 4 of us for the week so it's ok.
The new holdall and toiletries sound like a nice treat and will soften the blow of work tomorrow (a bit). I was just thinking I'm not ready to take the tree down yet - it feels like it's over too quickly this year. Perhaps I need to flow my colleagues suit and put it up on November 30th. I don't think!
Have a good week x0 -
I tried my best with my tree this year, but it wasn't fully painted, and it was never even securely upright - still, when the living room lights are out and the fairy lights are on, it still looks lovely (well, it doesn't now, it fell over this morning, and a couple of dozen ornaments fell off, oops). Still, Christmas next year won't have building work getting in the way, it will be lovely2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Gill, hope you're feeling better and get over it quickly. From the description it sounds like the same bug has just landed here, which is awful timing with wanting to restart exercise, anyway decided that whatever state I'm in I will do at least stomach exercises and some yoga, even if I can't restart the more strenuous stuff yet.
Good luck with the new budgeting ideas, hope the system works for you.0 -
Evening,
last night didn't sleep too well, hacking cough, but woke up in a lather and today have the sniffles, so that tells me its on its way out. It's doing wonders for the diet as I've got no sense of taste, so not really eating much. This morning, looked at all sorts of tasty stuff in my fridge and decided to just take crackers and cheese and some fruit.
Spent money today, out of my £200, but that was business spending so will 'pay myself back' ; I'll see how this way of budgeting works, it may not work well because of being paid weekly, but I'll give it this month, and keep a really accurate spending diary.
Watching stargazing on BBC2, really enjoying it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

The thing with spending and budgeting is to just keep going until you find a method that works - and there are dozens of methods, so don't beat yourself up if this one isn't for you. and don't get concerned if it works for a few weeks/months but then doesn't seem to work any more....just hook up to the next method and give that one a go!
I find that I can stick to a method of working for a certain amount of time only, then I need a new challenge!

Yep, what Hypno said about the budgetting. I confess - I've always had a budget, but never linked it in to what I actually spend. Sounds crazy when I say it, but at one stage I spent literally *nothing* that I didn't have to - so I didn't need to watch what I spent. Now, with a small clothes budget, for instance, I *do* need to watch, so I do (or I'm trying to).
I'm also watching Stargazing! Excellent - Dara isn't just there for the celeb factor is he, did you hear him the first night talking about inverse squares?:eek::eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm watching the David Walliams thing on 4, but Stargazing sounds better. Dara *is* a clever chap - have you heard him on QI? He gives Mr Fry a run for his money!
Hope the you feel better in the morning Gill x0
