Hi Heavenleigh,
I store homemade bread in a breadbag that I bought from Lakeland and I think it helps to keep it fresher.
There's an earlier thread with more suggestions that may help so I'll add your thread to it to keep the replies together.

Mine goes in a clean tea towel and then, into a sealed plastic bag, once the bread has cooled down.
I find it easier if you slice it whilst still slightly warm and then pack it like that.
Slices can be toasted as wanted, or I put a slice or two in the microwave for about 40 seconds and eat it straight away. That seems to soften it a bit, but it must be eaten straight away or it will go as hard as a brick.Felines are my favourite

I always use the light option for the crust. As soon as the loaf is cold I wrap it in a tea towel (thought I was being original;)) and store in a bread crock. The lid of the bread crock is propped slightly open for some air. The loaf stays moist for a few days.....but I have to be careful to clean old crumbs regularly from the crock or it will go mouldy.
Of course if you are a careful adult there won't be any crumbs to clean out, however teenagers are wont to rummage for the freshest loaf!0 -
Hi, need your advise.
Have just made my first batch of wholemeal bread rolls and also made a small loaf, just wondering how best to store the loaf to save it going stale??
Was inspired by all of you lovely OS'ers to have a go and the result of my bread was amazing, just had the bread rolls warm with homemade soup, family loved it, and its nice to know exactly what we are eating and that it is all fresh.

I keep mine in an open top wooden bread box with a tea towel over the top. It stays fresh for about 2 days, then it's good for toast for another 2.The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0

I have some plastic bread bags from bought loaves that I've scrounged from my mum in law, and I keep my home made bread in those and use one of those plastic clip things to keep it closed.
I always cool my bread on a wire rack before putting it in a plastic bag, otherwise it goes soggy.0 -

I wrap mine in a clean tea towel. I often cut it while still hot and the tea towel stops the cut end drying out.0
