The bread will definitely taste best while still very fresh so if you can't eat it all in a couple of days, I'd slice it up and freeze it.0

Hi Jaynebryan,
There's an earlier thread with lots of advice on storing homemade bread so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

hi all,
I make my own bread using a breadmaker but havent come up with a way to store it so it lasts as long as possible.
I thought it was going stale so fast because I didnt have a bread bin so I bought one, but it hasnt really changed things. Before this I used to put it on a plate and wrap it in cling film to try and make it airtight - this didnt make much difference either meaning it only lasts a day and half before its gone stale....
Thanks for any suggestion,

I make a loaf a day so it has no time to go stale. But you could slice it and freeze what you don't immiediately want in bags with a couple of slices in each. I keep mine in a large cliplock box.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Hi top_drawer,
I use a bread bag from Lakeland to store mine and it seems to help. There's an earlier thread which should give you more ideas:
storing homemade bread
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

I have a lovely glazed pottery bread bin which I bought from a charity shop a few years ago. Although homemade bread keeps reasonably well in it I find it lasts longer if I put the loaf in one of those zip top freezer bags.0

I have a large tuppaware type box for mine. It means I can have another day out of it.0
