Good morning OS,
I did do a search before posting this - so I appologise if it has been asked before !. I need to get a bread bag or two to keep my homemade bread fresher for longer, could anyone please recommend the best place to get them as I know a lot of OS make their own bread too.
TIA

Ask your friends and family to save their empty ones from shop bought loaves.

My SIL uses the cloth ones from Tschibo - she says they are cheaper than the ones from Lakeland0

I just ordered two from Tschibo myself
I think they were £2.99 for 2? (btw when on their site request a catalog and wait for the mail confirmation, in there is a code valid for 1 month entitleling you to free delivery

Have to admit that my loaves don't tend to last very long at all....so I wrap them in a clean tea towel....well for at least a couple of minutes anyway.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

The Tchibo ones are nice but do not have th plastic inner bag the Lakeland ones do. They are fine if your bread goes quickly though!
The vouchers board has a £5 of voucher for a £20 spend at Tchibo if you are getting a few things. The free delivery vouchers are also there somewhereMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

A bit late now, but I wrap mine in tin foil and find that it never goes hard, even though I have to pre-slice mine to stop kids making doorstops!!

If it's gone a bit hard I pop it into a hot oven for a few minutes to refresh it and comes out like freshly baked bread again.

If your crust goes a bit hard, you can trim that off, make into breadcrumbs and the 'flesh' of the loaf will still be fine. Easy to understand why sandwiches had the crusts cut off in bygone years
As Pink suggests, you can put it in the oven for a few minutes too - the only thing I would add to that, is to sprinkle it with some water first.
You could make your own cotton bread bag from two linen teatowels for future times.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
