Keep the bag securely tied that is comes in, place it somewhere dark (bread bin is ideal) and nowhere too cold or too hot.
As long as it isn't mouldy - stale bread is great for toasting and fab for making into bread crumbs for cooking.0 -
We keep ours in the freezer. Just take out slices as and when you need them - if you split the slices up it only takes about 10 mins to defrost in the open air.
Helps that our toaster has a little frozen button to toast the frozen bread a bit better.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I split a loaf into three, freeze two, use one.

I slice my bread then put it into a lock and lock box i got from lakeland, keeps it nice and fresh, its lovely:T0

i to have a fab lock and lock box, it's the best investment for my bread i've ever made
if bread goes off it's about 4-5 days old, but it's so much longer lasting than before.
other good thing is it can go in the dishwasher to get rid of bread mould spores etc that wooden bread bins harbour

I bought a small one and a medium one a while back, not one esp for bread but i do use it for that:j

Personally, I have some large sandwich bags that I put my HM bread in.0 -
I wrap my bread, uncut loaf from the bakers in a teacloth, or in a paper bag THEN put it in a plastic bag in the fridge. I've just eaten the last of a loaf I bought on Friday and it was as fresh as when new. In a paper bag on it's own it goes dry and just in plastic goes mouldy.0
