Got my PPI claim back - upheld! £750 is on its way to me within 28 days. Very very pleased, as like I said, I hadn't even realised I had PPI on that loan, and the form took 5 minutes to fill in.0

On a mission today (of sorts). Haven't done any surveys in weeks so will do that while watching the football. Then prepare lunches for work for the week (although I'm only working 4 days this week and OH is mostly on mornings so won't need as much.
Emptying the freezer is going well - I'm eating lots of ice cream (weirdly it doesn't seem to affect my blood sugar too much).
Going to order a new bedroom carpet on Tuesday. There's a local firm that are very cheap for good quality stuff so will use them. Just wanting something plain.
When the PPI refund comes in I shall be saving £500 of it to supplement the mat leave wages, and £250 will go to home improvements. Bathroom is next on the list.
A few years ago I'd have used the £250 to buy a new phone or laptop that I didn't need - I'm starting to grow up a bit and actually getting pleasure from making the house look nice.0 -
PPI payment was in my bank account today. Very impressed with Lloyds! £500 went straight into savings. Ordering some household stuff with the rest tomorrow (carpet, curtains, and save enough to get a plumber out for the bathroom).
Today was a NSD as I couldn't be bothered to leave the office to go to the pound shop to get bread. We've got enough for today at least. That makes 2 for September so far.
Got some stuff in the boot of the car for the charity shop, am going to see what else I can find to get rid of.0 -
Ordered some carpet, got a small discount for sending a fair bit of business their way recently. Every little helps, as tescos might say!
Got a few bits for the house from argos, used a voucher so only spent £20. Also got some food essentials from tesco. Only spent a tenner so that wasn't too bad either.
Did some cooking this afternoon, two veggie moussaka and a sweet potato bake. Will need to get something out of the freezer for OH tomorrow as I can have the potato bake but I don't think he'll like it. Thursday we're at ante-natal classes so will need something quick.
Have been waiting for someone to turn up for a freecycle giveaway but no sign as yet, and they were supposed to be here 2 hours ago. You'd think if people are getting something for free they'd have the common courtesy to turn up on time or at least let you know they aren't coming.0 -
NSD today, stayed in the office all day. Operation use up things out of the freezer continues, with a chicken stir fry for OH and enough to use tomorrow with fajitas. Just need to make some couscous for work lunch tomorrow.
Freecycle person never showed up or contacted. Very annoyed.
Have had three tax notifications in the last few days, can't work out if I've overpaid or underpaid.
I need to remember to get to the charity shop at some point to drop all this stuff off.0 -
So I came home today to a £300 cheque from the tax man. Result! That'll be put straight into the savings.
Busy weekend but only 7 days left in work now. Not that I'm counting down...0 -
So I ordered a chest of drawers from Tesco two weeks ago, should have been delivered today, no sign of it. Phoned up, "oh we don't know". Cancelled the order and placed one with argos to pick up tomorrow. £20 cheaper as well. Rubbish service tesco!
Paid in the taxman's cheque, thank you very much mr taxman!
6 days left in work - 2 this week, 4 next. Bump has dropped a bit and is getting increasingly wriggly. I've been working pretty hard today (as my colleague seemingly couldn't be arsed) but I'll never keep this up all week without ending up with a splitting headache so I shall take it a bit easier on Wednesday when all the team is back in the office.
Money wise, have spent a bit this weekend, but really worth it housewise. Feeling really pleased with how the house is going. The taxman money is going into savings - I found myself looking at new boots this weekend and then realised no, I don't need any, I got lovely new doc martens last year. I'm trying to wean myself off this view of "I deserve..." Especially seeing as I've constantly a car boot full of stuff for the charity shop! No more shopping. Just need to stay away from HDUK and the grabbit forum now.0 -
Well done to Argos, furniture ordered, picked up and done within a day. Take note tesco! Also the very nice lady took pity on me and even wheeled it out to the car for me.0

Had a credit card statement today for the last year, I've spent (and paid off) £4100 on my credit card. That's ridiculous. The balance is 0 and that's how it's staying. That's pretty much all gone on gig tickets and holidays and well, that has to stop, and it has.
So, had I not been spending a more silly amount than I thought over the last year, I could have probably paid off most of my debt by now. Lessons learned.0 -
Successful scan and midwife appointment this morning, in and out in an hour. Also avoided parking fees by parking down a side road (our hospital does 30 mins free or 2 hrs for £2.50).
Bedroom carpet being fitted today, refund from tesco for the furniture arrived back in bank account yesterday, and I've got a few days off work. Not really planning on doing much apart from sorting the house.
I was a proper mardy !!!! with OH last night, I blame pregnancy hormones. Will be nice to him today
After this weekend, when the bedroom's all done, I'll be ready for baby to get here. Very excited now.0
