  • 0/3 on NSDs (although today should be one) due to ebay postage - why can't people just pay up and let me get to the post office on one day instead of dribs and drabs!), and 1/3 on AFDs.

Lovely thick snow outside, so not planning on going out at all (that always helps avoiding spending!), though if it's like this tomorrow we're going to make snowmen (we're big kids at heart).

Went to supermarket yesterday to pick up a few bits, got some whoopsied stewing steak so will do that in the slow cooker with some carrots, onions, potatoes and whatever else I can find in the bottom of the fridge. Also got lots of cherry tomatoes which I will roast with some garlic and herbs to make a lovely pasta sauce.

Paid £30 quidco money off the credit card today, and withdrew £50 from paypal, so as soon as that hits the bank account it'll go straight off the credit card too.

I was supposed to be going out last night but we cancelled because everyone's so busy. Also supposed to be going out tonight but it's too cold so have decided not to, which is very moneysaving if nothing else! We are out on Thursday though.

I found some old disposable cameras which I reckon must be about 10 years old, got some truprint envelopes so will try sending them off to see if there are any retrievable pictures on them. Worth a go! I'm putting that towards my decluttering targets! The ebaying has also decluttered some envelopes and bubblewrap from my collection so I'm quite grateful!

Poundland are doing lots of late 90s/early 2000s CDs, which is my era, so I'm having to avoid going into the shops at all at the moment! Have rid myself of any cravings to buy clothes (rediscovered lots of things in the wardrobe) so as always the spending craving moves to another target.

The weekends are always too short, but it's nice to have a lie in. Although I always seem to wake up around 8.30, which is not as much of a lie in as the OH gets!
  • So after yesterday we're on 1/4 for NSDs and 1/4 for AFDs. Wasn't going to leave the house but have decided the snow is so lovely we're going to go to the park and build a snow man.

Pasta sauce is done and in the freezer, slow cooker about to be fired up for stew, and will roll out some pastry later for ham and cheese pasties which will do for the week at work.

I do like snow but I hope it starts to melt before tomorrow, as I don't like driving in it. Loads of visits booked in for tomorrow as well, typical.
  • Walk in the park was beautiful and very much needed. Relaxing (apart from trying to stay upright) and refreshing. Slow cooker is bubbling away nicely, smells delish, pasties made (they look quite nice, considering!), and today has been both AF and NS! That makes 2/5 AFDs and NSDs. Ebay postage tomorrow, but that leaves only one left to pay and it was such a small amount and a newish bidder that I'm expecting no payment at all.
  • 3/6 AFDs but 2/6 NSDs as posted some ebay stuff today. Sold two more things today as well, already paid for, so that's £30 for the bank but another trip to the post office tomorrow.
  • 2/7 NSDs (more ebay postage) and now 4/7 AFDs which is good. Still sticking to the work lunch challenge as well, which is incredibly hard given that I work next to loads of gorgeous food places! It's better for me and saves money though, which I keep having to tell myself.

Have withdrawn another £35 from paypal today which is great. It all counts! Opened a NPB on one outstanding ebay buyer, and sold the last of my tat today so unless mr late payer decides to pay, tomorrow will be the last trip to the post office for a while.

Just waiting for tea to cook now, so am sat watching the football contemplating some ironing (and that's as far as that's getting!)
  • 2/8 NSDs (arrrrgh, not happy, and tomorrow will be yet another spend day) and 4/8 AFDs as I'm about to open a beer.

Just roasted a chicken which smells lush, that will be tomorrow's tea, probably friday's as well (oh will be sick of chicken!) and work lunch for tomorrow and friday for sure. It was yellow stickered at M's, so quite happy with that.

It doesn't seem as cold as the weathermen said it would be, although I'd imagine it'll get worse.

Need to do the contents insurance this week (got enough left over from this week's wages to pay if off in full), so will be examining quidco closely! Also got a few weekends away coming up so will need to sort cheap hotels (also through quidco and hotels.com as I'm only a few away from a freebie).
  • 3/10 NSDs now, and 4/10 AFDs. February is not going well!

Sorted the contents insurance, with £45 cashback on quidco which makes it very cheap. I've decided that if there's something I can pay upfront I will, as it reduces the number of things leaving the bank account every month.
Two weeks til payday and things seem to be going well. There's not much I need at the moment from the supermarket as we've done a few big shops, so I'm going to aim to avoid them as much as possible.
  • Pottering around today. No idea if I'll end up having either NSD or AFD, but we shall see. Have stripped the other day's roast chicken of all of its meat and the carcass is in the slow cooker to make stock. The meat should do for tea tonight and probably tomorrow as well which is excellent.

Washing is done, just now drying on the radiators as the only thing that will happen if I put it out on the line, is that it will freeze.
  • 4/12 NSDs and 5/12 AFDs. Had a quite productive weekend overall: made a cake, did chicken noodle soup out of the stock I made on Saturday, all the washing done, tidied out two cupboards. Will take the soup to work and got some whoopsied mince yesterday to make a lasagne with tomorrow (in true MSE style, with whoopsied peppers, onions, cheese and mushrooms).

One last ebay parcel to post tomorrow then I will go for as many NSDs as I can manage.
  • 5/14 NSDs and 6/14 AFDs. On a roll for the rest of the week now. There should be no spending needed! 8 days til payday and I'm hoping that I don't need to buy anything grocery wise apart from bread. Might need petrol before the end of the week but I hope not.

Made a massive lasagne yesterday, bulked out with vast amounts of whoopsied veg and some red lentils, and that's so far done for last night, tonight and tomorrow's lunches. Not bad. Tomorrow's tea will be tomatoes roasted with garlic to make a pasta sauce, as we have vast amounts of pasta! I have however noticed that I've run out of tinned tomatoes. I will write a list for the supermarket and aim to go on payday.

I have the opportunity to work some days at home, and I think I might do that sometimes, although what I save in petrol I will use in electric, so it needs careful managing.
