Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

Thanks Urg!
I think I needed spurring on to make a decision and although I'm not sure this is the most sensible one I've ever made (it would be much more sensible to be debt free first) I feel like it's something I need to do. And I don't want to leave it too late and then look back and say 'well yes, I'm debt free, but I missed the opportunity for something I longed for'.
In the spirit of preparing for every eventuality, I shall continue with sorting the house out today. Hopefully will be a NSD and definitely will be AF - need to get back to not drinking on a school night!0 -
14/27 on NSDs and 13/27 AFDs. I think I'll hit my target of half for each by the end of the month. Work was manic again today, which is good because it keeps me busy and stops me spending! Went to tesco on the way home as we needed bread and cheese. Timed it right as the whoopsie counter was filled to the brim so I indulged slightly with a profiterole stack (£1), some nice herby new potatoes to go with the chicken I've just roasted, and some snacky things for work lunches this week. Plan is to make the chicken last all week - it's just resting at the moment so legs and wings tonight, breast tomorrow, rest of meat wednesday, carcass in slow cooker for soup (chicken noodle soup was amazing last time I made it) Thursday and Friday we'll be sick of chicken!
need to do some ironing tonight, and price up some mdf for some more shelves for the front room. If we put four shelves in at the bottom of the alcove (which there is room for), we can clear the bookcase upstairs, the CD racks downstairs and quite possibly another alcove upstairs. I wonder if I can persuade OH to take that as a task during his week off......0 -
Good luck TC - My hubby hates doing that sort of thing in his holidays!
Sounds like you did well on the woopsies! I wish I had got round to ironing. I sat down at the computer to sort out my monthly budget and goals and just stayed here!0 -
haha OH doesn't really like DIY but he did offer to do some jobs so I'm going to make the most of it!.
For the end of Feb, NSDs is 16/29 (yay!) and AFDs is 15/29 (could do better). Roll on March I say.
The chicken is going down a treat, although I doubt it'll last til thursday. Think I'll use the soup for lunch for work instead. The carcass is bubbling away nicely at the moment in the slow cooker, so will just need to throw some veg in and some noodles after it's been strained and it'll be lovely. Tonight we'll have the last of the breast meat fried up with onions and mushrooms served with rice and some kind of sauce, although I haven't decided what yet. Got some sausages out for tomorrow, so half will be for bangers and mash, and half for a sausage and tomato slow cooker thing on Friday. I could get used to this menu planning lark!
Work is quite manic at the moment, as usual. I have just discovered I can do mileage claims from home so I need to sit down with my diary over the weekend and get all that done. Am trying to plan visits so I'm not using too much petrol, as the prices keep going up! Plan is to get through to next payday with only filling up once.
When I do next have a spend day (might be friday) I need to buy some parcel tape and some boxes as I've got some books to send to Zapper and also some boxes of stuff to go in the loft (the xmas decorations will not just lurk around the spare room this year until next xmas!). I also want to get some pictures printed and copied but that's not an essential.0 -
1/1 on NSDs and 1/1 on AFDs (although I am tempted). Going out for a drink tomorrow though so that'll be my fix for the week!
Another busy day at work, but I must be honest I love it! And I love that I'm so busy I don't even have the urge to walk around the shops and buy things I don't need. In fact, I don't even get chance to walk around the shops full stop, even for things I do need. The only thing is I drive past at least 3 supermarkets on the way home and it's very hard to resist the lure of the whoopsies. Yellow stickers enchant me, I swear.
I seriously need to lose weight. I'm snacking on too much crap at the moment. I tend to eat fairly healthily at work - fruit, a fairly light lunch, and more fruit, but I'm always craving bread when I get home. I will have to look at my eating habits more closely I think. And get more exercise, but I'm always saying that.0 -
4/5 on NSDs and 3/5 AFDs, but will need to spend tomorrow to post some ebay stuff. Trying to get the AFDs up as much as possible at the moment!
Weekend was quiet, got a few jobs done which was good. A little bit of decluttering done which is very good. Car boot is full of crap now though!
Quiet week planned, lots of work I reckon. Got a £10 voucher from VO today, four surveys in the inbox so we'll see how long it takes to get to another £10. I find VO the easiest company to get vouchers out of.0 -
5/7 on NSDs and 4/7 on AFDs. Am still doing well on work lunches as well, haven't spent a penny at work yet for lunch this year, which I'm amazed at. It's saving me a fortune! Am getting quite creative as well and not just living on soup which is good as that can be not very filling and a bit boring after a while.
Still decluttering, as much as OH will let me. I'd get rid of far more if he wasn't there saying how he "might need" stuff in future. The house is definitely looking tidier though. I can notice the difference if no one else does!
I was looking at the clothes in the tesco sale recently. Did get two pairs of leggings for £2 each, as they will go with everything and I do tend to live in them in winter and summer. Have had to throw out three pairs of jeans (well, off to the charity shop for recycling) so I consider that a fair swap. I was looking at the shoes and boots, but then thought of my massive bag of shoes and realised I'd be buying for the sake of it, rather than because I need them. So I didn't. Willpower is working!0 -
7/10 on NSDs and 6/10 on AFDs (am extremely hungover today so no drinking for me!)
Filled the car yesterday so hopefully that should last me until payday (12 days). We're away next weekend so that will be a bit spendy but apart from that I'm planning a quiet time, as april is going to be busy!0 -
9/14 NSDs and 8/14 AFDs as of yesterday. Not been up to much really. Did get the gas and electric bill through yesterday which was in credit so the monthly payment is coming down by £33 a month, which is fab!0

Hehe, it's been quite a weekend. 9/19 on NSDs (ie I haven't had any over the last few days) and 9/19 AFDs (pretty much ditto). Had a fabulous weekend though, and actually ended up spending less than I thought. Have therefore already paid the minimum payment for my credit card for next month and have a couple of hundred left over by payday which is Thursday.0
