Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

6/15 NSDs and 7/15 AFDs now, bringing the total up a bit so I don't feel quite so bad. Sorted out all the paperwork for my mileage today so that should start coming in next month. I don't budget it so whatever comes in for mileage goes straight towards the credit card.
There's still lasagne left! Had some for lunch and for tea, so just roasted some tomatoes with garlic and cooked some pasta, mixed it all together and that'll do for lunch and tea tomorrow. We will stink of garlic but nothing wrong with that. Am now trying to resist decluttering a packet of biscuits.
7 days til payday now. I love this countdown as the best bit is paying off whatever's left the day before payday, and making nice big payments on payday itself.0 -
7/16 NSDs and 8/16 AFDs (yay up to half on the AFDs now). Think I'm getting another cold, ugh. Busy few days at work coming up so I could do without it to be honest. Mind you, despite that I'm avoiding spending which is usually my first avenue to making myself feel better - nothing like a good whoopsie hunt to lift the spirits, but the fridge is full so I'm avoiding.
OH is working late tonight and doing over time tomorrow, so house to myself this evening. It's freezing so I've got the heating on. Electric and gas bill are due and from the meter readings I think we should be pretty much bang on so fingers crossed with that!
Equally, if I'm lucky I might get away with not buying petrol til Monday or Tuesday. And it's payday wednesday so that would be great if I could manage it!
As I've got the heating on I might have a nice relaxing bath later.0 -
8/17 NSDs and 8/17 AFDs (I'm having a bottle of wine). I have finally found a motivation that stops me shopping and makes me want to pay the debt off asap. Payday on Wednesday and although I think I'll need petrol on Monday, I can't see myself needing to take any more money out of the bank (got a fiver in my pocket and about a fiver in my purse) so with petrol taken into account should have enough left to pay an extra £100 or so onto the credit card.
I need to go to the opticians, so I shall try to book in next week. There's a boots opticians near the office so I'll go there as I've seen some lovely frames that are a lot cheaper than Specsavers (and yes I know about the cheap online places and I have used them before but I find the quality to be variable and as I am reliant on my glasses I'd rather pay a little extra and be sure on the quality).
Quiet weekend planned. If the weather gets better I'm planning on cleaning the car (it's horrendous).0 -
9/19 on NSDs and 8/19 AFDs. Ended up having to spend yesterday, as we ran out of bread. I was going to send OH out for bread but realised I'd still be paying for it and that was therefore cheating. Ended up going into town and picking up a few bits I needed but paid with vouchers so I didn't actually end up spending very much. I also wandered round and there were things I liked that I could have got with some vouchers but I ended up thinking 'I don't need them' and so didn't buy. I can use the vouchers when I do actually need something. Plus, buying more stuff when I'm supposed to be decluttering is a bit daft, isn't it!
There's a big pile of ironing awaiting me, so I'll be off in a few minutes to do that. It shall be eased along with a glass of wine.0 -
10/20 NSDs (yay! up to half) and 9/20 AFDs (must do better!) Payday is wednesday, got someone coming round for tea tomorrow so will fill up the car (got a 10p off a litre voucher) and pick up a few essentials on the way home from work. So, plan is tomorrow will be a SD but then Wednesday and Thursday NSDs and then Friday we will see. Not planning on drinking this week until Friday so that'll get that number up a bit.0

11/22 NSDs and 10/22 AFDs (I blame OH). Got some absolute bargains yellow sticker wise in tesco tonight (lets just say my freezer is now full of lots of meat) and filled up the car with petrol using a 10p off sticker saving around 3.50.
Payday today so paid off what was left in my account towards the credit card, and a payment for this month. Loan payment goes out tomorrow.
Work lunches is still going well. I think I'm going to get to the end of february without having paid for a lunch in work which is ace. Am being quite creative as well with what I'm taking in so I'm really pleased with that. It makes such a big difference.0 -
12/23 NSDs (woooooo!) and 11/23 AFDs. Not even had an urge to spend today (been too busy mostly). Keep focusing on the reason for all this.
There's loads on telly I want to watch tonight, and I want to sort out the drinks glasses as we have far too many! Might do that at the weekend.
I've budgeted for this month, £200 groceries, £120 petrol and £100 entertainment. If I stick to that I'll have £400 to pay off the credit card. We shall see if it happens (I think it'll be the entertainment budget if anything, after all, it's st patricks day before next payday)0 -
so including today we're on 13/25 NSDs and 11/25 AFDs (now that's not so good is it!). Today is all budgeted for though so that's good.
I'm still on a "get the house in order" drive. Decluttering is going on all over the place - if only I could get OH on board. Well, it's not that he's not on board with it but more that he doesn't have time to do it. He has a week off soon though and he's promised to do the spare room. There's a load of old work stuff in there that just needs going through and sorting.
Have had quite a productive morning so far. Last load of washing is in the machine, the other two loads on the line. Been into the village for a few bits, managed to avoid the deli which is my weakness. Just catching up on some TV before tackling another drawer upstairs - this one is the "cables and random things" drawer, I'm sure I can make some inroads into that one.0 -
I don't know if anyone actually reads this diary, but anyway, I've made a pretty important decision.
I'm due to take my next cycle of the pill tonight. I am not taking it. I've decided, there are many things in the world I can put off doing, but I can only put off having a baby for so long. I want a baby more than anything in the world. OH is round to my way of thinking, kinda. Yes, we owe money, and to be honest, it will all be paid off. We can't afford a baby but who can. I know it's right for us, and talking to OH, so does he.
wish me luck0 -
Hi TC,
I read randomly So don't always follow but just wanted to say good luck. I too have come off the pill but DH and I are going to wait for a while to deal with some other issues. I'll be watching to see how you get on.
