HAving just read the first page and start of second I really think that you have all behaved in an appalling fashion.
Where on earth did all this vitriol come from?
No in the great scheme of things this really isn't important and whilst I would complain in this instance I don't think I would be asking advice on a forum, however unless some of the OP's early comments have been deleted your attitudes are terrible .0 -
Best thread I've read in ages. How on earth can anyone get so upset about an easily replaceable piece of paper? Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, really.
Just a thought though...if I get out my marriage certificate, pour curry sauce over it and possibly even set fire to it in the garden, do you think my OH might take the hint and start packing his bags? Or (more likely for him) might he just eat it?Val.0 -
I don't know if you're referring to me in your post, patchwork cat, but if you are, I'll point out that my first post to the OP was meant to be helpful - and focus her mind on what her options were.
She chose (for God knows what reason) to take exception to what I said (or the way I said it) and basically was quite rude to a number of posters.
And although she said she wasn't stupid or unaware of what my point was, I do think she misunderstood my point - and that coloured all her responses to me and other posters and IMHO encouraged people to have a go at her - NOT to jump up on my shi*ty (non existent) bandwagon, as she refers to it.
I have never in any of my posts belittled the damage done to an important document - in fact I said as much in reponse to Tozer's post.
Even after the OP was incredibly rude to me, I did not reply in kind.
You say you've read the first page and part of the second - may I suggest you read further into the second page - specifically my reply #40.
And the OP is still having a go at me into the 4th page.
If you read my recent posts you'll see that they tend to be helpful and/or supportive.
That is, until I am verbally attacked by someone who has a problem and wants to take it out on someone else.
And I'm sorry if you don't like it, but it's not going to be me!0 -
Pollycat I was not referring to anyone in particular it was the general tone of the responses, there was one person I found very offensive on page 1,(not you as it happens), however if you think my comments can be aimed at you ( which they weren't in particular) then perhaps in future your responses should be self moderated.
If I felt that you had made a particularly offensive post and were to be singled out for comment then I would have done so, don't be paranoid.0 -

Have you the least idea how sanctamonious you sound?0 -
A Stain in the chapter of life . I do wish that the only thing in the world we had to worry about was a stain on Mr/Mrs 9 stone .
I have a rubber here that may help , a bit like rubbers may have helped in your married life.
I came to this thread by looking at previous posts by this poster who has been venting on another thread - their vent my be valid, but they are ranting and accusing everyone of conspiracy!
I find this post to be particularly offensive.
And of course to point out that someone sounds sanctiminious isn't at all is it Gordi!0 -

I haven't a clue what you are on about....by your own admission you have not read all of this thread but somehow have come to this conclusion:-
"I really think that you have all behaved in an appalling fashion."
ALL?...I'm appalled at your misuse of the word!0 -
..If I said "horrified fascination " with this thread, does anyone else know what I mean................(I am presently watching, hiding behind the sofa. Now where did I put that hand grenade...)0

Hey, if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. You didn't read all the posts but stated that we all behaved in an appalling fashion...how can you state that when you hadn't read all the posts?0
