I just made it. It's not as fluffy as a proper cake but very filling. And very very yummy. Will definitely be making it again, possibly with wholemeal flour. DH said he could eat it for breakfast so need to make it a bit healthier.0

I've made a couple of these now. The second one I put some mixed fruit in too but I also put in some baking powder and it made the cake a bit lighter and it rose higher too making a taller cake! Very nice!:TI'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!

Huge thanks OP! I just discovered, & tried, this recipe today. Excellent!
I did it in a Kenwood BM200 on the quick bread/ cake program 10 (not the separate dough then bake programs) & it turned out just perfect. Not brown round the outside, nor underdone. And that program bakes for 90 mins! Just thought I'd post that in case anyone else uses the same breadmaker.
I only used 3/4 cup of sugar & tbh I think I'll only use half a cup next time. I added crushed hazlenuts too.0 -
I have some over ripe bananas just waiting on this recipe,Id forgot all about it...might get this on the go whilst i nip out to get some ingredients for ideas ive picked up from the cheap cakes topic.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly
GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)0 -
I never got round to this with my MR but happened upon some cheap bananas and remembered this recipe, so it's in my Panasonic now:)
Have added some sultanas and a spoonful of mixed spice.
Ohhhhh...just remembered I used half w/meal but it was ordinary, and forgot to add any baking powder...oh well:o It's bound to be edible!0
