Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with a cheap sub for The Times. As I said previously I was told to let my sub run out and I should hear from someone about rejoining. At present I have heard nothing, how long should I wait or is it worth phoning them again?

I'm told it's 3 months, but no direct experience as yet.

I phoned them earlier this year about a deal and they said there were none but two weeks later I was emailed a deal for £2 a week. I think it might have been a coincidence.

How much is average to pay to get the papers delivered? Thanks!

    £1.50 pw Harrow, London.
I use the Times vouchers and generally have quite good coverage, incl accepted at M&S Simply Food (although this was one of the petrol station shops). When I tried to use them in Brighton they were not as widely accepted.

Had a call today from the times, almost 3 months! Offered me £2.50 sub to come back. tried my hardest to get down to £1.50 then £2 but they wouldnt have it. We carried on buying the Sunday Times so I decided to take up the £2.50 offer. He said if we pay by DD then it works out at £2.29 a week for 48 weeks.

I asked him about unused vouchers and he said that if you don't use any of them send them in at the end of the subscription and they will rebate up to 4 weeks. Not bad??

Thanks for that, Tripleh. Very useful. We've switched to the Guardian/Observer, and I'm not going back to the Times until they come up with a better offer. Looks like three months then, as I'd heard.

Just rang the times to see if I could get an offer of £1.50 per week and she said it was £4.50 per week. She said they send out offers for cheaper deals but you have to be on their database ( be a subscriber ) and you may be picked at random. She was a snooty young lady and said that was the way it is. I said surely you should offer the deals to new subscribers and she said that was not the way they do it. I said I would think about it and hung up. I only rang bacause my OH asked about it because his newsagent said you can get the times cheaper. Any ideas anyone???

All I can think of is to take out the lowest sub, 14 weeks? I think at £4.50. Then cancel and wait the 3 months to see if they come back with a cheaper rate. I might be wrong though.

Sorry - no link. This was just a response to a question about delivery charges.

£4.50 pw seems to be the present rate for The Times, and as suggested above the only way you're likely to get below this is to pay this for a while, then cancel, then wait and hope they offer you a better deal.
