After a bit of investigating I discovered that I had an offer of £2.50 per week for The Times. I hadnt been informed about this but when my postcode and name were confirmed it was there! My 16 year old son has been advised to read a heavy newspaper and so have been forking out £3.50 mon - fri so this is a good deal for me.
EVEN better.... I was offered 12, 24, 24 weeks periods payment by cheque, direct debit or credit card. and understanding that offer price might (will) rise after the period I take up.
If I took up 24 or 48 period I would get a £20 book token or £20 wine token.

I accepted the 24 period and book token ( was told it was a straight book token no deals involved) and payment by direct debit. I was then told as it was my first d/d I would get £10 off!!
So got 24 weeks subs for £50 ( £10 month spread over 5 months) and a £20 book token in hand.
Bit dubiuos about token but will see what turns up!
    I rang 0800 854 547
    Good Luck

I have just taken out a £3 a week 1 year direct debit Times subscription. I wasnt offered a book token or any other incentive. Do you think its worth a phone call to ask why?

Be intrigued to see what they offer you.

Regarding me re-subscribing to the Daily/Sunday Telegraph, i phoned up and was offered £2.65, when i hesitated and said i was on £2 a week last time, the operator said this was now the cheapest price they offer. Could hardly dispute that so went with that as it costs more than that for just the weekend issues.

My Times sub has come up for renewal at £4.50 pw - it goes up 50p every time. What's interesting is seeing here (http://www.abc.org.uk) that they offer subscriptions running from £1.50 to £4.50 pw. No way I'm renewing at £4.50.

I see also from the same site (just search for the newspaper you want to check on) that the Telegraph subs run from £1 to £5.35. There are some bargain rates out there, and I'd love to know the best way to get them!

i can't find any rates on this site, can someone post a direct link please??

my times sub started at £2 and they are now asking for £3 this renewal so i'm cancelling, hardly get time to read them all anyway, so the latest price rise will be the final nail in the coffin.
was always a guardian reader before but really like the times football coverage

    cheers
