I've just been offered The Times (six days a week) and Sunday Times for a year for £88, paying by direct debit. I rang their subscriptions office, told them what the Telegraph was quoting and ask if they could come up with a better offer. The Times offer was just over half what the Telegraph was asking. In the meantime, I tried to negotiate a good deal from the Guardian, which would be my first choice, as I already subscribe to the Observer. The best they could come up with for six days a week for a year was £624!! So, will stick with the Guardian's online version and subscribe to The Times.0

my times sub started at £2 and they are now asking for £3 this renewal so i'm cancelling, hardly get time to read them all anyway, so the latest price rise will be the final nail in the coffin.
cheers
ideally i'd like a sub to the guardian, anyone got any advice about getting a discounted sub, apart from befriending a student??!!0 -
I have just paid for the FT Trial Offer over the net.
https://www.ftlatest.com/bs-trial1-2007/default.asp?source=127
This has been mentioned on this post before but is good value even if you are not going to continue the subscription.
You can also (still for the 4 weeks for £1) have the paper delivered in certain areas.
If you allow the subscription to continue, it is £52 for 13 weeks. That is £4 a week. The paper costs £9.50 a week.
My primary interest is the Weekend edition which is £2 every Saturday......but to get the lot for £1 for 4 weeks is worth a go!0 -
Hi,
I have The Times at £120.00 a year which I think is 48 weeks as far as The Times are concerned.
I tried The Telegraph and their best offer was £218.00 for 48 weeks0 -
