Yes back to the degus. I would really like to see the degus, without Ruby Moons 2 penneth.. How about picturing them out the cage or without the cage in shot to stop future arguements lol?
Theres 2 types of horse owner, a person who owns a horse and a horsey person ;)

OMG. you lot are like a bunch of flippin animals on here.

You all need to stand back, take a deep breath and back off away from the post button

    You all call yourselves ADULTS

Shall we get the tar and feathers out now?

Now as for the degus, I didnt see what size the cage is - i dont care either. BUT I did find a wonderful wee calculator for the OP. http://www.octodons.ch/rechner/?lang=en

And as far as I know degus do need huge areas, ideally an Avery type set up same as chinchillas - dont really make for good pets as they are nocturnal

Personally, I would still say it was abuse. Not on the same level as say, racism, sexism, etc., but it was harsh and uncalled for, and was even aimed at other posters, not just the OP. That's just my opinion on the matter though, and I respect if people see it otherwise.
I just thought something should be done about it. I browse these boards a lot more than I post on them, and it really annoys me when I see unjust/offensive/rude comments in what is otherwise, a friendly online forum.

And the abuse that rubymoon has got in return is also totally unacceptable and for people to add their thanks to posts swearing at her ...... just very very childish

the problem with the abuse button is that if you dont use outlook express you cant use it! it should go to a form or something instead.

I just copy the 'to' and 'subject' lines and paste into hotmail. Agreed it is a PITA whereas reporting SPAM is straightforward.

After all, if the cage was adequate, why would anyone take the pictures down? There wouldn't be anything to worry about would there?

How about rude, know it all posters?
  • I'd never heard of Degus before I read this thread and I think they're adorable little things, very like a chinchilla to these eyes. As they're burrowing animals I'm not entirely certain how one would go about giving them a satisfactory environment but it sounds to me that one which will not allow burrowing would not be appropriate at all.

As for what else has been going on in this thread: least said, soonest mended, I think
