Should I scrap my 11 year old Nissan for a new Hyundai i10?

Not a big alloy wheels fan though, and insurers have told me that the Comfort is in a higher group than Classic.
Price difference is £600.
I agree with your points about the i20. Our thoughts exactly. Only concern with i10 is room in the back for teenagers 7 adults. I occasionally take my parents in my car, one of whom would need to sit in the back.
So have you sat in the back to find out?
At that point you either know there is enough room or not.
We only bought a Mazda2 when we had checked that DS2 (15 & 6'3") could sit comfortably in the back.0 -

Taking hubby to have a look this afternoon, am planning to check it out then.
I've been working through all the other questions so I am more prepared when i go this afternoon than I was on Saturday when I just stopped by out of curiousity.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I was in the same situation,11 year old Escort just passed its MOT but needs new clutch and AC problems.Decided to go for the 'Comfort' as I think the extras are well worth it (£700 extra) and getting delivery at the end of this month. My wife was a little concerned about the size of the i10 but when you sit inside its a little 'Tardis'. GO FOR IT!.0

My only other point is you are quite tight on the money front ask yourself what would happen if you or OH lost their job and what is the likelihood of that happening. If you can't anwer that with any certainty then it might just be worth hanging on to the old car.0

I would have thought the insurance for a 17 year old on a Almera would be scary (if you could get it at all these days)0 -

Surely a 17/18 year old female would not be too bad third party, cheaper than buying a unknown quality car and then insuring it, or driving mothers newish car and bending it0 -

Yes, that is a consideration, I definitely wouldn't go for it if it wasn't for the money I've been told I have been left (although I might not actually get the money for 6-9 months)
My job is not an issue, hubby's potentially dodgier - they were on short time for three months at the start of this year, but have recently taken on more staff so we're assuming that means things have picked up a bit. However, I am very fortunate that, in an emergency, my parents are both willing and able to help us out if needed.
I've considered deferring the decision on whether or not to change the car until the money from the will comes through, but by then the scrappage scheme will probably have finished, the Almera worth next to nothing, and we'd probably end up spending the same money but on a 3-4 year old car.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
