You can get compensation for this go see a solicitor.Tell them your child seems mentally scarred by it all. They will get prosecuted.

The nursery was wrong and stupid, but get this in proportion. Hardly scarred for life. I agree take her out if not happy with the place, but a solicitor and the police! Is that what you want -- some money for two inches of hair and the police have more important things to do. I can see why kids have no respect for school staff any more -- parents can't accept that mistakes can be made by human beings -- normally non life-threatening ones! It says it all when you make more fuss about this than her dietary needs not being met.

Omg can't believe what incompetent carers they were. Hope your little one (and you) are working through it now ;0)
  • "Tell them at nursery that you want to enter an official complaint in their complaints book (don't let them tell you they don't have one, it is a requirement from ofsted)"

Er -- no it isn't. It is a requirement to publish a compaints procedure which any compainant may follow. There is no requirement to keep a book.

  • Depends who they are inspected by. I work in a residential school for kids and we have to have a complaints book available to kids, staff and parents as part of our minimum standards

    She was LIED to..
  • Why on earth did they feel it necessary to cut the child hair? For heavens sake, if they couldn't wash it out, then leave it be. Explain to the parent that they tried and couldn't get it all out.

Far better to wait until the child is at home and be plonked in the bath.

    People can be so stupid.

I'm pleased to see you are taking this all the way and didn't back down.

It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)
    I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

when we called the police, we were shocked that they are taking this very seriously saying it may not only be assult, but may also be classed as abuse.

They just cut her hair to get some paint out, not a big deal.

    It's not assult or abuse.

    What's wrong with this country??
