Sounds like the nursery is run by liars , and incompetant ones at that.

    Time to pull the plug.

I would ring the police immediately, you cannot be too carefull nowadays. A weekend in the slammer for the workers there will teach them a lesson.
  • The hair cutting is an assault and the nursery knows this. So it shouldn't be allowed to stay in business.

The hair cutting is an assault and the nursery doesn't realise this. So it shouldn't be allowed to stay in business.

Whatever the scenario, closure of this particular business due to withdrawal of licence should be accompanied by sanction appropriate to a criminal offence.

In view of what happened to your child, then all children at that nursery are at risk, a thought which will be uppermost in the mind of the police at this time.

Remember: any action considered by any reasonable person to be invasive -- and lopping off a child's hair is certainly that -- without the knowledge and consent of the parent or guardian is a criminal assault.

Getting the place shut down as soon as possible should at least spare other parents the distress you've experienced, and likely forestall the nursery's next innovation of tattoing numbers on children's wrists to enable better record keeping.

You can get compensation for this go see a solicitor.Tell them your child seems mentally scarred by it all. They will get prosecuted.
  • I would be absolutely furious and would in the first instance report it to face to manager then in writing then to ofsted then to police. I would want a course of redress. It is totally unacceptable and actual bodily harm.
  • can't give a a proper update yet due to upcoming court cases.

i will give a full update when possible
  • Tell them at nursery that you want to enter an official complaint in their complaints book (don't let them tell you they don't have one, it is a requirement from ofsted), and the make a complaint to ofsted, they will investigate it. I would be wondering what will happen next given you previous encounters in only 3 weeks.
  • If you have any worries or concerns about your child care provider then you should remove the child straight away, as a mother, go with your instincts as they're usually right.

Hope you find somewhere that will give your daughter the care and respect she deserves.

    Good luxk x
  • My granddaughter was unhappy at her nursery but we never found out why - just transferred her elsewhere. Now we've discovered that that nursery has been closed down, prosecutions pending. So go with your gut instincts, don't wait for an incident to occur. If a child is repeatedly uncomfortable about going to a nursery there is good reason.
