Fair enough, that's why "possessive" sticks out like a sore thumb, in an otherwise simplistic explanation. As you taught literacy, would it be an explanation you would have used, or would you have quoted usage, as the others are.
Sorry mikey, my IQ classes me as being of 'very superior intelligence' but I am having difficulty understanding you!
BFG's explanation made sense to me, and I think one-to-one it would suffice with someone with literacy problems.
If you have a better collection you would present to someone with literacy problems then good for you.
This exchange is not really going anywhere so I'll leave it there!"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Couldn't possibly argue with you then, from down here.

Mikey,
I can see what you mean wrt possessive - I think I will change it to your suggestion [belonging to]
On second thoughts would 'owning' be better???
I'm confusing myself now....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl:I couldn't quite think how to put it. Sounds quite conceited doesn't it,
Maybe yours is even higher?"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

As a potential aspiring pedant......the 'N'ursery [sic] didn't cut the daughters [sic] hair, an employee/owner of the nursery did.0

this is still growing?
:rotfl:
I cant wait for the next one:
"the school let my son/daughter sit in their own %&%& because they arnt allowed to help them get changed, or lend them a clean set of clothes  "0 -
That was a long read!!
I can see both sides to this, however, I think the OP obviously sees this incident as the last straw after 3 incidents in such a short time - I will add though, if a nursery had given my lactose intollerant child milk I'd have hung them myself for it there and then - that is unforgivable!
Can I ask, OP, are these nursery workers young? Cos they sound like the actions of silly immature teenagers fresh out of training, rather than experienced adults who, if they made such a bad decision, would at least have the decency to look you in the eye and give a sincere apology.0 -
i think i'm allowed to tell you this, the court case is tomorrow and i will have a full update after that.0
