Isn't this all part of the nursery experience, toddlers coming home covered in mud and paint etc. I'd think most parents accept this.

I quite agree, I have no problems with my kids coming home covered in paint, mud, etc. It's the sign of a good day to me.
It's when people start cutting off the painty or muddy bits that the objections begin.
  • right then, update time.

it turns out other parents had complained of numerous problems to the police:eek:

two members of staff were in court today, charged with common assult.

1 charge for cutting our daughters hair

1 charge for giving her milk when lactose intollerant

1 charge for cutting another girls hair

they were found guilty on all counts:T:T:T:T

thet received a 500 pound fine, plus costs and a 100 pound victim surchage, each

other charges have been left to lie on file, whatever that means:confused:

we will not be chasing compensation as we feel justice has been done to an extent

just remember that these two women are free to continue their jobs with children, thats the only bit that annoyed us

Well done for seeing it through but like yourself do find it disturbing that after being found guilty of common assault they would be allowed to work with children again

And it just goes to show it wasnt an isolated incident with your child, the woman seemed partial to snipping childrens hair

Yeah id be surprised if they still had there jobs and any future employer would have to get a full crb check done so it would show up so i dont any other nurserys or employers would give them a job knowing that

At the same place? If they get fired then they will find it hard to get jobs anywhere after being convicted of assaulting children

    Congratulations :-)

You've no doubt destroyed 2 peoples careers a few weeks before xmas, all for, somewhat innocently cutting your childs hair... and don't give me gumph of it being assault, it's hardly life threatening and I doubt they weren't intentially being malicious.

Although to be fair on the OP, they should of simply admitted it, apologised, and explained why the first time. The fact they were keeping stum, and all this news lately of abusing children, probably why the CPS was all over it.

    .

The fact the teacher also gave a child milk with an intorelance to milk which can be very dangerous proves she shouldnt really be working with children if they she cant get that right and chops hair as she pleases plus like the op said had more complaints from other parents, i couldnt care less if she has lost her job weeks before christmas, maybe you would want someone that incompentant working with your children but i certantily wouldnt want them near mine

I congratulate the OP too, 2 people destroyed their own careers by performing what has been proven to be assault on children. It doesn't matter whether you deem it as life threatening or not (which giving intolerant or allergic children the banned foods could be!), it's been classed as assult in a court. If they are unable to look after children, a blind eye shouldn't be turned just because they will be out of a job by Xmas. They've no one to blame but themselves, whether it was done with malace or not, people get fired for a lot less, working with less precious items!

Thanks for updating this thread OP. It's a shame they didn't disclose the other charges and I really hope that these women do not work with children ever again. It didn't surprise me that others had put in complaints and I hope that all staff are properly vetted in these nurseries.
