CRANKY, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you and little George right now. Hopefully you will have some support to see you through your devasting loss.
We've got an early start today, as we're off to a Victorian Manor. It's situated in17 acres of Edwardian gardens and typically, it's raining
Girls have their instructions to wear wellies!
We're having a guided tour, but I may not be able to get upstairs so will have to send DDs up with friends. Will see when we get there.
Enjoy your day all.
Will catch up when we get back. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Hi Tru,
Totally empathise re the kids...been there...doing that as we speak:eek:
Not much old style here today either. Im still getting over the shock of buying a carpey cleaner and then reading a thread about it being on sale:mad: Oh well nevermind. I also read about people abusing vouchers such as the Hof F ones. I was going to redeem one tomorro at MK but I bet they will be cancelling it now like Tesco has. Its just greedy!!!!
Rainy and horrid weather so have my heated airer turned on. Its my best ever lakeland buy and only use the cost of lighbulb and is very hot so heats up my utility at the same time.
I would like to reiterate to jayne and george my sincere condolences. Thinking of you.
MollyI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Jayne, I'm so sorry for your loss. As everyone has said if there's anything any of us can do, just let us know.
Rather a wet and windy day here, just about to hang some washing on the airer, make my sarnies, then off to work.
Have been doing a lot of crochet lately made some amigurumi but find because they are so small and fiddly that they make my wrist ache, so back to doing a blanket again, nothing posh just a granny square that will grow and grow and grow.
Not sure whats for tea tonight, depends if OH is home or not. Will finish off above washing in the dryer tonight so then I can iron it, going to visit down south as of Sunday for a week so need to keep on top of the ironing otherwise I won't have any clothes to take with me, I find I don't have 'work' and 'going out' clothes anymore, they are all one and the same.whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Jayne and George you are in my thoughts.
Woke up to rain this morning, first for ages. Unfortunately I'd left quite a lot of washing out -mostly jeans:rolleyes:
OH put the heating on for half an hour when he got up so that's given the washing a bit of a drying boost. Don't know where I'm going to put today's laundry.
Breakfast was beans on toast for the kids, I had sour dough toast and marmalade.
Lunchboxes have coronation chicken rolls (ham for ds2 who claims not to like coronation chicken), flapjacks and fruit.
I've got leftover chicken pie, mash and veg:D It's rather a lot for lunch so will try not to stuff it all -think I could halve it and save some for tomorrow.
Supper will be Chinese minced pork (pork, spring onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce cooked with finely diced carrots and peas) and rice. Or, might do it with Chinese pancakes as there are still lots in the freezer. They might be good in lunchboxes like mini wraps:think:
I've kneaded a batch of sour dough ready to bake this evening. I was just putting it in its bowl when I realised I'd forgotten the salt. I've kneaded it in and am hoping it will blend in with the dough and not stay crunchy.
I'm off to a farmshop this morning that is a bit more expensive than my usual one but has a more interesting selection of veg. I'm hoping they will have winter squashes other than pumpkins. They had a beautiful blue one (with orange flesh) a few years ago and Turk's Turban squashes. I love them, they keep for ages.0 -

Today might be a good day to tell someone special that you love them, as you can never say it too often. Offering warm gentle

What a wonderful idea. When I had my best friend in my life we used to make sure that we told each other how we felt often. That practise is certainly something I would do regularly if someone special ever entered my life again.:TWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Morning Everyone
Jayne and George please accept my sincere condolences for your horrendous loss.A truly terrible thing to happen
After reading about Jaynes loss it puts all other problems into perspective and you realise how trivial they are.
On a domestic front its whizzing it down here and I was planning some gardening today but that is now cancelled.I've got the bedrooms to clean and vacuum so won't be idle.I've also got two loads of washing done and my house looks like a chinese laundry as I can tumble dry some clothes but others like school jumpers shrink in the tumbly so they are draped around the house.
I've got a monster chicken and a ham to cook later and chop up for the freezer
The tinies have all gone to school with tummies full of cereal and sausage sarnies.Hubby had an omelette
Lunch for them was beef and onion sandwiches, bakewell tart, fruit and yoghurt
Tonights tea is yet to be decided but think it will be gammon and pineapple with new potatoes and cauliflower cheese
