Sazere wrote:Had a good shop today at Tesco (although technically not wholly due to voucher use):-
Total spent - 16.62 (7 items)
Multi-buy savings - -9.97 (Buckaroo/Operation Games)
Daily Mail Book Voucher - -4.00
Total to pay - £2.65
Plus 26 clubcard points as used an extra 20 points voucher for buying salad cress at 24p!!!
With regard to the Daily Mail Book Voucher, did the SA just take it with no quibbles? Having had a Quick Read voucher turned down recently by a spotty boy, I don't know if I'll have the courage to use it!
TIA0 -

the daily mail vouchers are great...the SA's in my local shops just ask where they can get some from...lol0 -
Whilst buying the cheap as chips operation games today at Tescos, I handed over some quick read vouchers, next thing supervisor called and she suggested we walked to CS together where I could pay.
Anyway, she phoned someone in the back office and explained that a well dodgy man had tried to use some quick read vouchers recently in store. Then she was told not to accept my quick reads today which wasn't a huge deal as I was only doing a small shop of one nice top (for sister's hen night) and 4 operations games. The games cost £25 ish and the till deducted £19ish off so I paid around £6.00 for 4 kids games which was a fab bargain anyway.
Also noticed they are still giving bonus/double points at the tills

Yep, no problems this time! Chose a slightly harrassed looking young woman, asked her how her day was, got the life story by which time she had scanned the voucher, although she did a double take when she read out the total amount to pay and then looked back at the voucher I had used. She just said well thats good!
Usually pick young lads, but whoever I pick I now make a point to chat to them, seems to make the voucher use easier?0 -
I do like reading this thread, however, I don't think it's a good idea to boast about how much we are saving like this. I agree it works, but surely we dont want to bring too much attention to this.. Just my thoughts on this thread.0

I agree. I love reading the stories too and have great respect for some of the members on here who do submit them. I purposely have never mentioned in my posts how much I'm saving for that reason. We know that 'BIG BROTHER' is constantly monitoring these forums.

Depends on the branch, as always. My local Metro takes one coupon per transaction, I only use it to buy one or two items when I run out, or to buy multiple newspapers when there is a good coupon in that day's issue.
Then I hand over my highest value coupon, or split my shopping into 2 transactions (second lot for my Mum) and hand over one for each lot.
Just ask the cashier, can you scan any of my coupons please, maybe hold out three, they may take them all!
I wouldn't ask at an Express though, they don't even know about R&R (until I remind them!) let alone taking coupons without buying the product.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
