Just paid 21p for a £10.88 shop at Tescos! Used the £4 book voucher from the Daily Mail yesterday, 4 x Quick Reads and a variety of 50p printable vouchers from the internet. That's put a smile on my dial for the rest of Sunday. Just kicking meself that I didn't pick up 10 copies of the Daily Mail:o First time I've used a newspaper voucher and worried it might not work. Will be braver next time0

Well done rozeepozee, I know initially it can be worrying wondering whether the cashier will accept the vouchers or not. But once you notice the savings it gets alot easier !!!
As for the Daily Mail vouchers I only got one thinking that maybe it wouldn't scan but it did. However, coupon-mad mentioned that it was in the Daily Mail that they are repeating this voucher everyday for 2 weeks I believe. So at least we will have more opportunities to get them.

Do you think this could develop into some psychogical problem? I am soooo excited by that news! As you know, baby on way very soon and I am thinking: now what baby stuff can I stock up on? I can see me doing lots of tours of the local Tescos in the next 2 weeks armed with my Quick Reads and DM vouchers0 -

Wasn't me Welshy, but I read it just like you did! Thanks to whoever it was who mentioned this, it was on a Daily newspaper thread I think...
I will be looking out for the Daily Mail next week, and my next-door neighbour gets the Mail and is usually happy to pass me her coupons as she says she's not brave enough to even offer one! Think I'll give her something to say thanks, at Christmas (paid for with her coupons, no doubt!).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Apparently, Sainsbury's used to take them, but changed their policy a few years ago. And some people have said that the tightening up of the voucher policy is something that happens every now and then, and then they relax it again.
When I got married & set up home in '88 I used to find a lot of coupons in mags & Safeway (as it was then) would always take ALL of them. I used to write down what I'd saved every week! Then their policy changed & it's only recently (thanks to you fab lot here!) that I'm a koupon kween again! :-)0 -
ah yes the good old Safeway days, in 1988 at the age of 18 yrs when I bought my first house and got married, I remember many times handing over various coupons to our local Safeway store. Sadly, Safeways is now Waitrose and with 4children and 3 kittens I much prefer Tescos and their clubcard points.

Glad to hear of your savings!!! in 1988 i was only 5 but my mum probably used every voucher going and i was probably at the age where you found it embarrasing if your mum used coupons.
i must say i have changed now and i dont leave the house with our coupons in my purse and in glove department as i never know when i get the urge to go coupon shopping!

Been an avid forum reader of MSE for almost a year now, but subscribed last month.
I remember my mum used vouchers from newspapers to get us on cheap Butlins Holidays, and free family portrait sessions. being a youthful 22, i fear(in a positive way lol) that i'm turning into her.
Being young, married...and a student, i am thankful from the bottom of my heart for all the tips that i get on this site. especially those regarding Tesco's. Am planning to go on my first coupon-crusade this coming week, so will write back to get it all off my chest! (the "guilt" has started, and I'm still at home!!!!!)
well..wish me luck, ByeBye
(watch out Tescos Shirley and 5-Ways - i'm on my way!!)'I love being married. It's so great to find the one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life' :heartpuls0 -
fmhm - good luck with the vouchers - I am sure it will be OK, if not try again, soon you will know which cashiers to go to and which to avoid.
