Can I ask a question?
How long have you been doing the coupon thing?
As I said somewhere else in the posts, we used to be able to exchange vouchers anywhere years ago and then suddenly it all ceased.
Just being nosey and interested to know.
By the way thanks to yourself and others on here I went to Waitrose yesterday and got £2.70 off my shopping, just a start.
Wouldn't shop in there normally their prices are much dearer than good old Morrisons.0 -
Some old and wise MSErs have said that the coupon thing has been going on for decades (I've only been doing it for just over 2 years and am absolutely kicking myself for not realising it earlier).
Apparently, Sainsbury's used to take them, but changed their policy a few years ago. And some people have said that the tightening up of the voucher policy is something that happens every now and then, and then they relax it again.0 -
Hiya givememoney, apologies for not replying sooner was stuck in boring meetings all today in work, then had mystery shopping to do before I finally got home.
I started using coupons in April 2005, basically when I first joined this site. One of my first posts was actually asking about Tesco voucher policy and how it worked. I remember ben500 (top bloke) giving me advice at the time and I think that is why now I always try to help because we were all newbies once.
Today, went shopping at Tescos
Total spent £74.22 - minus bogofs £10.42 - total cash I handed over today was £34.02 so I had £40 off in effect.
This included £20 worth of toiletries on bogofs, 2 duvets, 4 pillows, £10 worth of clothing, one copy of Prima (for vouchers), 2 copies of Daily Mail (for vouchers), 4 large boxes of Go cat (thanks to thrifty boots for vouchers), a pack of nappies and 2 x 2ltr bottles of Cravendale (thanks to mink35 for vouchers).
Total I paid was £34.02 BUT I also gained 1,700 points today which is £68 to spend at MFI.
A very productive shop - I did have alot of clubcard vouchers, ie 3 x 250 points for spending £10 on clothing, 200 points for non-food items etc.
Not 100% success though as my Times vouchers were rejected but I will use them another day.

Asda point blank refused them Except the sausage one.
Tesco took all the ones i handed over no problem
so had a £10 odd saving,and £2.50 in petrol.
Not a bad nightNot Buying it 2015!0 -
As you get braver with the coupons you realise you dont have enough.
It is the only way I can make ends meet. Everyone at work thinks I'm mad, I pop out every day to Tescos in my lunch and pick up a little shopping and use some coupons. That way they mount up in the week, It is quite upsetting when you have a whole weeks shopping and they will only take off £1 (only one coupon per shop madam).Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52

Ive been using some of the internet print yourself ones and also received my copy of Prima this month which had a booklet of vouchers in it. Last week went to Waitrose and did a £78 shop and after vouchers we spent £21...we did quite well and got alot of deals and reductions.

I went shopping today, primarily to stock up on health and beauty items. I ended up spending £56 but after vouchers it came to only £10,
which for a halloween costume for DD3, 4 boxes of Go cat (thanks again to thrifty boots), 2 bottles of pop, 8 toothbrushes, 2 deodrants and some toothpaste as well as a magazine and newspaper it was a total bargain.
I also bagged 500 points for buying the toiletries. At the till I handed over my vouchers and he happily scanned them, realising I had more of the Times £2 vouchers I said can I give you 3 more and he said yes fine, so had an extra surprise £6 off my shopping bill too.
Next store I went to got a paper, and £10 of health and beauty toiletries. The staff there aren't very good accepting vouchers and they had been briefed to only accept one of each H&B voucher, so I went to CS and had the money back for the non-scan voucher. I know now to avoid that one for any big shops.
Have to do the family shop tomorrow so will be using my last of my Times vouchers.
