where can i find vouchers/discounts to get off my weekly shop at tesco or asda. reducing my bill would be great.

Try Superdrug for the £5 off Olay vouchers. These scan at Waitrose or Asda but NOT Tesco. Also in Superdrug £2 off Gillette fusion razors if you can find any left. These scan at Asda or Tesco.

Buy Quick Read £1 off on Ebay. Acceptance on these varies store to store, my Tesco takes them.

Any magazines or newspapers, look on MSE for any particularly good ones and then buy several copies, eg October Good Housekeeping, cost £3.20, £7 of coupons so £3.80 profit on each copy.

On this board, check out the newspaper Coupon thread every day, if there is a good day (i.e. with coupons worth twice the newspaper cost or more) buy several copies.

Also check out the 'products with coupons' thread and the 'magazine coupons' thread, both to be found under Discount Codes and Vouchers (may not be on page one but look back for them and then subscribe to those threads so you can find them next time.

EDIT: Just found the link for 'products with coupons' thread:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=257287

Finally, it's perfectly OK to buy coupons on eBay. What you need is to find a 100% feedback seller who states that his/her coupons are 'not copies or internet prints, but are original manufacturer's coupons'. If the listing says the coupons are 'cut from various magazines' beware and ask the seller if they are store-specific before bidding (you want non-store-specific).

I have seen a seller listing coupons which I recognise as coming from the Tesco mag recently (coupons for Kitchen roll, toilet roll, sponge cleaners etc) and all they say is 'some cut from mags, etc, contact me if you have any q's before bidding'. Don't bother!

Any newbies who need advice please feel free to pm me!!

They would at Sainsbury's, they don't ever at Tesco, or Waitrose. Asda is a bit odd for me as I have one local store where they would do this, and one where they take any!

Don't worry. Occasionally the cashier will ask 'have you bought any of these products?'....don't get all flustered, just cheerfully say 'no, I think that Tesco (or whatever) takes a certain amount of coupons without buying the product, is that OK?'.

Be prepared to find out that some stores impose their own maximums, but that some cashiers in that very store will not know or care about that!

Get some coupons from where I have suggested above, then go to your various local supermarkets (not Sainsbury or Morrisons or Netto or Lidl) and either ask at the CS desk what the store's policy is, or buy a fiver's worth of shopping and find out at the till!

  • Morrisons had some £1 off popcorn vouchers on Saturday...so grabbed quite a few and they have been accepted at Waitrose with no problems.

I just got £5.20 off a £9 shop at Tescos when I handed over: 3 x Quick Read Vouchers and then vouchers printed off the internet (50p Listerine, 50p discovery foods and 4 x the 30p Glade, Mr Muscle etc ones - all details of which have been posted on MSE recently. The Listerine one didn't scan so I suggested he input the number manually and it worked, the other 30p ones didn't scan with the til scanner but did using his hand scanner. Bless him, he was very amenable). I've now got bundles of these to use each time I shop. Half price shopping for me for a while then :j

I don't want to appear too miserly but I guess I'm wondering how much the printable vouchers cost to print (having spent a fortune on printer cartridges recently) it can't be that much, surely, but if I'm using 15p in ink every time I print a 30p one I guess I'm wondering if it's worth it?). Any thoughts anyone?

    Thanks but what's 'print doctor'?
  • I don't know what a print doctor is either but then I never print my own vouchers off, had a bad experience buying some of ebay which turned out to be very shiny and completely useless !!

Today, I managed to get 6 x £2 Times vouchers from the office newsracks. Then went to Tescos had £21 off my shopping, gained 750 points and spent just £11.00. BUT .............. included in my shopping was another 6 x £2 times paper vouchers so I am in profit anyway. Was very pleased with my purchases and even got my work colleagues a cake each to have with their afternoon cuppa.
