sunflowersuffolk wrote: »Could anyone help please. I'm a size 22 and want some black or indigo jeans, simple style, no sparkle to draw attention to big bottom!
The trouble is, I have really fat thighs, knees and even calves (typical British pearshape). I am 5'6".
I want jeans that come up higher than hips, nearer waist fit as more flattering and comfortable, and with some stretch. So many bootcut look too tight round knee.
I've looked for straight cut but not had any luck. I don't want to buy online as I need to try them on. Saw some wideleg ones online, but not keen on them.
Tried some Ann Harvey recently and they looked good in the leg, but crotch was too low (or legs too short) and they only did one length.
I really need to some some weight but just cannot do it. Thanks anyone for any ideas or advice.
Hi, I have not been on for a while, but terra firma knows I know my stuff when it comes to clothing. As I said I have a much slimmer body in comparison to my limbs(all that name calling of mitchelin man was a preminition!). I am too also on the enternal search for the well fitting jean. The fashion world mag online has some wideleg jeans that can be dressed up or down in a deep indigo. The jeans are called Farrah Wide leg and come in different leg lengths(also a 34" for us taller gals). The photo on the site makes them look like 70s flares, but it is on a size 8 woman! In life they are normal wideleg, great weight, bit of stretch and look fab, they will not clim to the bits you are worried about. I wear mine at least once a week. Hope this is good for you x:D"I AM NOT SHOUTING"0 -
Hello everyone
I was wondering, has anyone spotted any flattering and reasonably priced woollen jumpers in larger sizes in any websites? Or any warm jumpers even if they are not wool? I'm not finding much warmth in this weather in knitwear made from cotton or acrylic. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks."I AM NOT SHOUTING"0 -
Hi Terra, Newleaf and all new members, It has been a while since I last on, I hope the job is going well Terra x I will be on for the next week or so, so if I can answer any questions fire away, I am not big headed, I just know and love clothes, in the same way some of you would be able to answer a cooking or gardening question, its a passion. So go on any help needed and I will do my best x:beer:
I was in two minds wether or not to share this with you but I will as I am proud even though I look and felt a bit uncomfortable, I did a bit of modeling! not sexy BBW stuff but some beautiful dresses that a friend of mine makes. If any of you are wanting a party dress then I recommend these ( i bagged a couple for helping out and wore the blue one out in Leeds to some very trendy places and recieved compliments left right and center!), IF you want to have a look please do and you know what I look like then.I will not get anything by recomending these dresses by the way. I just know a good dress x

Hi all, I was again out shopping and love a look around TKmaxx. At the moment they have a good selection of knitwear, infact its all knitwear bar a few top. The fit I feel is petite as the bits I tried on were very short, and the sleeves came some where between the elbow and wrist. no good for me but maybe for you;). this was the Leeds Store but I believe they have the same designers in all stores. The quantity will differ though."I AM NOT SHOUTING"0

I did say a fair few months back that I had heard from the dogs mouth that Long Tall Sally would be doing larger sizes. They have started! The majority of designs now in a size 22 and some in a 24, including jeans! Just keep an eye on the rise, the classic fit sits on the waist( so no bulges), the contempary is lower.:D"I AM NOT SHOUTING"0

Hi Max, Aword of warning!.. I bought those boots soon as they were released and payed the full whack too! The back of the boot overhangs the very slight heel, I wore mine for a trip to amsterdam with my hubbie and daughter, put them on in the morning, flew over, checked into the hotel, went for a wander, had a meal, came back, took the boots off and a hole had worn through the back of the heel where it over hangs. I may well be heavy footed(if that is what it is called) but I have never had this happen to shoes/boots before. I took then back the the evans in the White rose and the manager gave me a refund as hers had done the same! I a way that was lucky as Evans can be have terrible customer service normally. So Cut ting it short.. wear them inside only..or see if your cobble can put something on the heels first to protect the fine material. They do look great though x:("I AM NOT SHOUTING"0
