  • I've been meaning to read through this thread for ages and this weekend I finally managed it and I'm so glad I did. Thank you to all who have contributed and added links.:T

We have just booked to go to Sharm El Sheikh for a week in mid January so now I'm desperate to find some suitable new clothes to take with me. It has been proving difficult to find Summer holiday wear as most shops/sites are selling clothes for xmas parties and Winter but now, thanks to this thread, I have several more sites to explore. Most of them are new to me and from the quick glances I've so far, some are beyond my budget but hopefully, I shall be able to find what I need.:)

I haven't seen http://www.curvygirlsclothes.co.uk/index.php mentioned on here and and I know their styles won't appeal to everyone, but I have bought a few tops from them which I've been very pleased with. Their prices are quite reasonable and I found their customer service excellent.
  • Could anyone help please. I'm a size 22 and want some black or indigo jeans, simple style, no sparkle to draw attention to big bottom!

The trouble is, I have really fat thighs, knees and even calves (typical British pearshape). I am 5'6".

I want jeans that come up higher than hips, nearer waist fit as more flattering and comfortable, and with some stretch. So many bootcut look too tight round knee.

I've looked for straight cut but not had any luck. I don't want to buy online as I need to try them on. Saw some wideleg ones online, but not keen on them.

Tried some Ann Harvey recently and they looked good in the leg, but crotch was too low (or legs too short) and they only did one length.

I really need to some some weight but just cannot do it. Thanks anyone for any ideas or advice.

I have to say i swear by Evans Jeans, i've tried matalan and tesco, but always go back to good old Evans, It's the only thing i buy from Evans now as i think there clothing has gone downhill.

I'm a size 22 and i wear the straight leg jeans, cos my lovely OH always says he loves being behind me and looking at my bum in them.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I used to love Etam jeans. You might still find some on ebay if you're lucky, but other than that I just have random brands of jeans now!

No, you won't, I think it's lovely and very appropriate, and if you feel good in it, you will look comfy and relaxed, and therefore fabulous. Go for it :)

I wear knee high boots with knee length or long skirts, and ankle boots with trousers. I would feel (and no doubt would also look) foolish with trousers tucked in my boots.

Just seen this - I have to say if you get the right jeans and the right boots, it can look ok. I wear black skinny jeans (Im a size 24 btw) with black knee length boots (suede ones from Evans, they're structured but stretchy if that makes sense) I tuck the jeans into my boots and they look fine. I wouldnt however tuck blue jeans of any description into boots - it looks wrong!

mad as a march hare - have to second your vote for Evans jeans, Im such a funny shape they are the only ones that fit. I have a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans from Inspire @ New Look that I love but they're massive on the waist and way too long in the leg (I'm 5'6 but have short legs :rotfl:) I'm a big fan of Evans straight leg jeans - they're well comfortable, I have three pairs of black ones and 2 pairs of blue.

    Hello everyone

I was wondering, has anyone spotted any flattering and reasonably priced woollen jumpers in larger sizes in any websites? Or any warm jumpers even if they are not wool? I'm not finding much warmth in this weather in knitwear made from cotton or acrylic. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
  • Hiya

Has anyone tried Yours clothing online store and their clearance site Size up clothing, I have bought a few items from Yours and find them good quality and fit and reasonably priced, they always have massive sales with discounts of up to 90%. I always find the reviews very helpful as you can never really tell what an item will be like by the photo.

Also Evans have now started to sell extra calf width long boots, and they are reasonable priced, at the moment there are only around 10 diferent styles, but if your like me and never been able to wear long boots its a very welcomed addition.

I also use Dorothy Perkins although you do not always get the quality
BHS also sell clothes for the larger lady and some of the designers at Debenhams are now adding larger sizes to their ranges.

    Happy shopping xx

Have you tried layering? Yesterday I wore a gap vest top (that clings), a long sleeve t shirt from M&S and then a cardigan (with wool in it) and was fine.

M&S have some woolly ponchos in at the moment, I got a black one and I saw purple too. They look nice, skim over your bumps and are warmer than no jumper.

*edit - sorry can't seem to post a link, but if you type poncho into the search box and select womens dept they will come up.

  • Hi

Asda and Tesco online have some lovely long jumpers which I've got to wear with leggings and boots and are very reasonably priced. New Look also have some in stock in their sale at the minute (have seen in store nt online!) HTH!
