Hi Sunflowersuffolk - don't take this the wrong way - but have just seen a thread which states that mamas and papas maternity jeans are 3 for £10.
Some are quite able to be worn by non-pregnants - have done it myself - so wasn't meant as a snide comment.

  • Thanks for the suggestion, never thought of that before. Those Mamas and Papas jeans are a good deal as some are reduced from £40 to £10, and then 3 for £10 offer!. Unfortunately the wider leg (boyfriend)ar low cut to go under your bump. The carpenter style has soft stretchy top part which sounds good for me. Problem is there are very limited sizes left, max seems to be size 20, but if you can find them, great deal. I'll keep looking.

I managed to find some size 22 "classic rise" (ie they sit on your waist not your hips) stretch jeans in Sainsburys of all places. They are bootcut but fitted over my thunder thighs and calves nicely. They had dark blue denim and some in black the last time I looked... I think they were ~£10.

    Morning Everyone

What a great thread, that I've just found!

I've been searching around for something to wear to a party night out and also a work's meal on a different night.

The party night - I think - most people are wearing posh frocks - the meal will be more casual I think.

Anyway, I've already bought a couple of dresses but not sure of them now, so ended up buying a long black maxi dress with a round neck and embellishment around the neckline - and got some gold and black earrings to wear with it. It's quite nice, however, I foind the Yours Clothing website and really love this:

and the leggings that she's wearing too

Now the problem is - I'm 52 years old, size 22 and after having read some negative comments on this thread, am starting to wonder if it would look totally ridiculous??!

  • WITT International?? On my never ending search for reasonable price jeans that will look ok on me, (fat legs/bottom) I stumbled across this site, and wondered if anyone here had used them, and are they ok? The clothes ae not latest young fashions, but there is quite a choice and they see to go up to size 30 in some items. Not sure if they're part of another group. Seems you have to pay £3.99 for delivery but no cost for returns (must be within 14 days)

They seem to be a European company now selling in UK, I wondered if they are German. On a visit to germany recently I found they have much better choice of quality clothes for larger ladies.

Sunflower, Per Una Roma jeans are higher waisted and go up to a size 22. They are very stretchy and quite generously cut. The quality is excellent too, you should give them a try.
  • thanks Joyce thats really helpful. They seem to have quite a few types, I'll go in and have a try on as soon as I can.

Hi Sunflowersuffolk - glad you took the comment on maternity jeans in the spirit that it was meant.
The ones i used to have were I think m&s and just had a slider thing at the side - quite useful actually!!

Also I have had a Witt catalogue.

  • Dear SallyUK, don't take any notice of some of the comments on here, wear it and feel confident and you will look brilliant, I like yours clothing, as there clothes are not dowdy and I am a lot bigger than size 22!
  • M&S Classic jeans might fit the bill. Think they go up to 24.
