  • Just want to share my experience of Bon Marche online customer service. Recently bought a dress reduced from £38 to £11 and a top with matching necklace reduced from £18 to £8 with free p & p promotion. Both items arrived really quickly but the necklace was missing. Phoned customer service and explained problem, apology given and immediate refund for cost of top. Was really impressed, shame my local high street store has recently closed due to high rent costs.

Yes I agree, ebay can be a good place to get bargains, I would advise to check the seller's feedback. Even seemingly high % like 99.5% could hide serious problems. In particular I'd check the reason for any negative feedback and their response.
The mobile app makes it hard to see the comments, but it's important to take a look. It also doesn't show links (afaik) to the buyers shop, which it can be useful as combining postage can save even more (unless the seller has free postage).

Though they closed down years ago, Etam clothes went up to a size 24 (though it might have been 26) and are well made, hence you may find them on ebay or in charity shops. I have a few items in my wardrobe. :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

There are some cheap dresses. I got some ski pants for £4 to use as tights under dresses. Their sizes seem quite roomy.

The X Catalogue Shop (North East, N. Yorks & Cumbria) has a sale on at the moment. Loads of size 16 - 38 and incredible bargains. They do from size 10 but most clothes are plus sizes. The catalogues are mostly the JD Williams chain. (Simply Be, etc) The normal prices are still brilliant - I've had some gorgeous clothing from there. I just lurrve my Joe Bloggs dress-worn-as-top and JB jeans, plus lovely comfortable suiting that makes dressy feel as relaxed as a jumper and jeans.

I don't know any online unfortunately but Emma Plus in Brighton, who I mentioned in earlier posts does as do Larger Than Life near Kew Gardens. Neither shop offer garments for those on a tight budget though. TBH a seamstress out of Yellow Pages ought to be skilled enough to know what needs to be done. I've had several clothes altered, dress lengths, necklines, waistbands etc Like I said makes a big difference.

I think you will find that Larger than life have closed their Kew store and now do pop up shops. Shame as this was the only place that I found a good quality pair of trousers that fitted my odd shape; just don't look at the price tag though.

Hi all, haven't been here for a while. Lack of bargains to report! However, I spent ages reading this yesterday and have ordered new bras as a result: http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1695447-The-bra-Interventions-continued?msgid=37553395

It is amazing how many women are incorrectly measured in stores and suffering ill fitting bras. I'm hoping the link is useful to some people here. Evans have bras on sale at the moment, so a good time to find out if you could have a better fit. It explodes the myth of +4 to measurement etc.
Good luck and happy bra shopping Ladies!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

When I ordered, I thought they said free returns but when I packaged some trousers up to return them, I saw that I'd have to pay by Royal Mail. There was a free return sticker for Collect Plus so I used that. When I went back to order some more stuff, I saw a charge for the sticker and now I am wondering if I missed the tick box the first time around and paid for the sticker!
The other cheeky thing is that you can return for free to a store but it is only refund or store vouchers on return. I have a store near to me but I don't want vouchers.
Still, a lot of shops seem to be charging these days. Cotton Traders are the worse. Yours is not alone in charging.
Faulty products are not charged though.
