hi! no im just focusing my final project around plus size fashion and in particular Evans because I am interested in that area of fashion but if anyone wants to a sponsor a poor student then I certainly wouldn't complain! haha0 -
"There is no one size fits all even in Plus."
That is so true, changes in life styles, nutrition and ethnic composition of populations lead to changes in the distribution of body fat, and require regular updating of anthropometric data collections.
The same way a fit skinny person will have a different shape to same sized skinny person. The larger the person the larger the variation in fat deposition can be, I hope this makes sense.
It is really time consuming and expensive to do even with 3D scanners this is why some retailers have developed a "best fit scenario " or "in-house measurement charts". Retailers have collaborated with universities to produce these anthropometric surveys.
I noticed a particular retailer even has advice on four different types of body shape too, taking it one step further.
I dream of the day when I can be body scanned for measurements and then go on to have my clothes individually made. I suppose this will only happen when they dramatically reduce costs in doing this.0 -

I've filled it in as well, but would Evans get to know this information as well? Because frankly if you go through some of the evans posts on here, there's a grumbling about their stuff, fit or fashion, or fabric/patterns. And I'm afraid my survey is quite critical, and this is possible something they should know. They're old now, unlike when they first opened, way back when plus size fashion was unheard of and they were revolutionary with colours, patterns, cuts, styles, and didn't stock 85% old fat womens clothing, with a few gems if you can be bothered to root for them.0 -
Survey also completed. Wishing you all the very best with this.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

I think I dream of the day of when I can get something that just fits, and I guess that would be body scanner and made to measure clothes!
Like having a nice pair of smart jeans that fitted comfortably on the hips and legs/crotch, and not having to tie them up, or sew dodgy darts in them to sit nicely on the waist, or a shirt that didn't gape because my boobs are a bit bigger than the shirt allows. OR a pair of calf socks that didn't cut circulation off because they were designed with tops for chair leg width (boots in that equation too!)
I know everyone has this problem, but as you have said, no one size fits all in standard or otherwise. But I hate the expectation of some retailers in plus size that just up a few inches on the size and call it plus suitable.0 -
I've just discovered it's London Fashion Week. Fri 15th Feb to Tues 19th Feb.
Last Year was the first event dedicated to Plus Size clothing held during London Fashion Week organised by fashion boutique Trapped in a Skinny World and plus size magazine Evolve, sponsored by Simply Be.
I don't know anything about it this year does anybody have any details, there is nothing on the website?
Has there been anything on the news/magazines?
If I do manage to find out I'll keep you posted.0 -
Small article on BBC breakfast about it this morning. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

There is nothing on the main London Fashion Week website but if you Google- British Plus Size Fashion Weekend 2013 it has it's own dedicated website.
Today is invites only but there are still tickets left for tomorrow.
Hope this helps.0
