Large Plus Size Clothing

I've just done a forum search and I can't find a mention of the X Catalogue shops, which sell JD Williams ex-catalogue (and often current catalogue) goods, mostly ladies clothing in size 12- 38 at a fraction of the catalogue prices. I'm size 16/18. They really are worth a visit, I avoided them for years thinking they didn't look particularly inviting, goodness knows what bargains I missed!
There are 19 of these shops across the North East and Cumbria. My local shops of Darlington and Durham are both very good.
Some of my bargains have been:- Camel winter weight trousers, cat. price £52, £4.50, suit jacket c.p £35, £3.50 x2, Joe Bloggs jeans cp £48.00, £12, .. three blouses at cp £16 for £1.99 .. Slimma trousers x 4 for £6.99 They are often brilliant for party wear and though I'm not big enough, they have a good range of outsize lingerie. A lot of the biggest reduction are in clothing from size 28-38 - I often see beautiful things that cost a small fortune originally in these sizes for just a few pounds - if you are handy at altering, you could make them smaller in many cases, I guess.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Should have said 'thread search'. I have mentioned them elsewhere on the Forum.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I LOVE this jacket, BUT am I too old, at 59 ( I feel younger but not sure I look it, lol)
Let me knowwhat you think
Hi ksh, just wanted to say that I am sure you would look awesome in it! I don't think it is too young looking! I would just think you are a very trendy lady. I am 32 and I like it as well. You should wear what makes you happy.terra_ferma wrote: »Talking of Australia, here's a new edgy designer, Gisela Ramirez, who might give food for thought:

Agree.
Yes, not for the faint hearted I would say... but it's good to see variety, and something edgy for plus size women who like that style, without people laughing at them.0 -

Today I am a very happy bunny. I can rarely buy any clothes at all, maybe a couple of tops or trousers a year. But recently I was lucky enough to be given a bit of money and decided that I would try too improve my wardrobe after the local bag lady turned her nose up at it lol. With the money I had I thought maybe 3 or 4 items.
But thanks to Snap_Ant I made my first visit to the QVC outlet in Shrewsbury, about an hour a way from me and what a great visit it was!
I came away with 14 items of clothing: tops, trousers and a tracksuit! Plus 2 nighties and a suede winter coat that I paid just £13 for :T Most of the trousers need taking up but that's a snall price to pay considering the quality and price.
All the styles are really current and flattering and the prices unbelievable. Even my 26yrs old daughter did well buying coats and tops etc. It was a brilliant day and I am still excited today. :T:T:T
Now I can throw out all my faded t-shirts and holey things and start again.Stop looking for answers....

This a great idea - and after my fab experience with the QVC outlet I can second your idea. Great way to save money AND look good.Stop looking for answers....

must find out where the nearest one is!0 -
There are two QVC outlet stores, one is at Birchwood near Warrington, and the other is in Shrewsbury. You have to be very lucky to find anything worth having, especially in the clothing line, and the Warrington branch in particular is famously besieged by unpleasant and aggressive locals, who grab anything and everything they can carry to sell on ebay.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
