Rain is one thing but someone just turned a hose on:eek:
Hope it clears before tomorrow - drowned rat is not a good look.
Glad you are home safely greenbee.
Your boss sounds a right prat - how was he in the work situation? Sounds as if he just got flustered when the sat nav let him down.
How was the rest of the work bit?0 -
I am quite happy with my week of flying. OH is on half term for the next 2 weeks so I probably won't be able to fly quite so easily. The plan is to finish decorating the kitchen, touch a couple of other rooms up, finally finish sorting the garden and the big one...I am going to try and persuade OH to declutter. I am not sure how I will go about this but in 2 weeks time I hope to have a much clearer house. I will completely clean each room as it is decluttered, I may be around for moral support to keep going.
I also need to keep up with my Masters stuff but I know I will just want to chill with OH.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Good evening all,
I had yet another nap on the sofa this pm with DS2 and woke from that feeling much better. I made a start on one of the RsOD (DS2's room) and will probably carry on in a bit.
DS1 has gone to meet his German exchange student - they're due at a concert in Sheffield later tonight. He'll come and stay with us from Sunday.
Miss Higgerty - I think you mentioned making soup with Chorizo sausage the other day (in the SC?). Would you mind sharing the recipe? I only just bought a large SC and I'm fishing for ideas. Unfortunately we all have different tastes. I'm not big on meat, whereas DH dislikes most veg (I'd have to blend the soup) and DS1 hates onions, mushrooms, peppers and green beans. They're a challenge...
Congrats to all the successful flyers - I'm hoping to catch up a bit now that I'm feeling better.0 -

I think you've found the perfect word to describe him! I still can't believe that anyone would go to a strange city with satnav and no map/written directions, but maybe that's just me...
He wasn't that great in the training either - he took us through some stuff on how to use the tools, but most of it we'd already been through with other people already. He hadn't planned the training, and half the time he left us to our own devices as he had meetings/calls booked. The other person doing the training was great. Very professional and knowledgeable, and I think she was a bit disappointed that he hadn't put more effort into it (she works for him too), as she was having to commute 2 hours everyday, pay for a dog walker, get behind on her normal workload etc, and there was also the cost of both myself and my boss getting there and staying in a hotel!
Still... I'm back now, and it's the weekend. But it's FREEZING here! I should probably change into something tidier and head off as there is an open evening a the local beauty salon/spa with free food and treatments, but I'm almost too cold to move!0 -
And then - please recommend me your machine!
Currently a Bosch - had it for 15 years and never (touch wood) needed a call-out.
Mudbath - you and yours are in my thoughts :A
Greenbee - bet you're glad to be back in Blighty
Had a lovely time with friends and bought a bargainacious Monsoon silk blouse for £4 in Oxfam :j Off to get ready to go out this evening soon :T
See you all tomorrow, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Just done the footie run, it is foul out there.
WM - we've got a miele (only a couple of years old). Our WM engineer advised go for the bottom of the range of the most expensive range, bit like buying the cheapest house in the best street (never the other way around).
Just cooking dinner round two and then a part from a bit of ironing I'm done for the day, not feeling too good with AF here. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
