Have you tried asking Barclays to downgrade from PINsentry to non-PINsentry? Not sure if this is possible though.

It's lucky that I haven't been automatically upgraded to PINsentry after opening my account.

Apparently I can log in to the account without using the reader but then cannot perform any transactions. Kinda defeats the object in using online banking!

The problem is that I need to use a bloody card reader just to log in to the bloody account which then means I need to use the card and PIN to use the bloody card reader!!!

Why can't I just log in using the memorable data and password like every other bloody account I have!?!

Apologies for my language but I am getting increasingly frustrated at why people can't seem to grasp a simple problem!

If you have trouble remembering things, such 4 numbers is significantly easier than having to remember your 5 digit passcode and a password that is a minimum of six letters?

I just hope Lloyds doesn't decide to introduce these blasted machines too or I'm stuffed!
LTSB are currently doing an 'automated telephone call' where you have to enter the digits displayed on your computer screen via your telephone keypad, in preference to card readers.

I have several credit cards and debit cards. It's impossible to remember the individual PIN for each one. I know the ones I need to know and don't need to be bogged down with any surplus ones!

I have no problem remembering my memorable data. It's not called memorable data for nothing ;)

Where can I find more info about this? It's the first I've heard about it lol

Change your PIN to something memorable.

Change your PIN to something memorable.

To change the PIN I would have to use an ATM and I never use them. It would also mean changing all PIN's to one of two, which in itself is a security risk and someone could have a field day if they ever discovered the PINs.

I can't believe you would suggest doing something that would put me at more risk just because your bank wants to go OTT about their own security :rotfl:
