Not a charity shop or car boot bargain but my son fitted out his student house with dinner plates yesterday for a total of about £6.50 from an auction. He has Doulton Alma pattern items (this is th epattern)
https://www.safepayments.com/mall/productpage.cfm/FineChinaReplacements/_RDA7/265986/ROYAL%20DOULTON%20BURSLEM%20'ALMA'%20Dinner%20Plate%2026cms
He has about 8 perfect side plates, 3 perfect dinner plates and 4 with repaired damage, 6 huge soup bowls all perfect, one medium serving platter and 1 enormous platter.
I haven't quite found the age of the stuff yet, but it can be expensive so when his mates all eat of Ikea specials he will be etaing of Doulton! The chap at the auciton house said he doesn't know why more students don't buy antiques to use.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Lovely finds from everyone! Couldn't get to any car boots this weekend (or rather, couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to go to any car boots this weekend!) but did visit my favourite charity shop and a few others on a trip to York. I got:
100% silk floral tea dress, £2.99
70s style retro yellow enamel ice cream sundae glasses, £1.49 for four
Ditzy print floral Topshop top, £1.49
100% silk embroidered blouse, £2.99
Floral cushion cover, 50p
Embroidered cushion cover and the cushion itself, £1.25
Lace doily, 20p0 -
Made it to Redcar car boot sale for the first time at the weekend, and it was absolutely packed, you couldn't move and had to jam your way through a ton of people to even see what was on the tables. You couldn't kneel down and have a rummage through boxes underneath or piles of clothes as there was so many people jostling around which was quite annoying!
However, I ended up with...
A tub of Chad Valley hama-type beads - £1
5 Hama pegboards £1 I was gutted because I asked the girls if they had any beads and they said they had millions but they sold out practically straight awayHama was one of the things I was mainly keeping an eye out for as I want to do a huge project but they're so expensive to buy from eBay or from the shops.
Warehouse LBD - £1
Primark floated checked summery shirt - £1
New Look floaty summery halterneck with pretty floral print - 50p
Dorothy Perkins black T-shirt with a rock print - £1
H&M red and white gingham halterneck - £1. Not too sure on this, might eBay it.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

I had a fab find today in a local charity shop. They are normally so on the ball I couldn't believe my eyes until I got home and checked google.
DD was looking through a pile of napkin rings and there were two sets.
"Mum these are a bit like ours" says she
"I doubt it." says I.
Then I had a look. Lo and behold it's a silver napkin ring. Oh, no price. Then I spot another with a sticker on it. £1.50 set of 6. So I bought a set of 6 solid silver hallmarked 1963 napkin rings for £1.50. I wonder how much I can sell them for.
