I got a brand new Dorothy Perkins soft leather obi belt for £1 in a charity shop. I've seen one almost the same from the Celtic Sheepskin Company for £24. I bought it to make some kind of hip belt/bag out of but not too sure now, it's too nice.0

Well I had a blissful morning at the regular local saturday car boot (was the first of the season this year).
I managed to pick up loads of stuff, my best bargain was a pair of Roxy Quiksilver black furry moon boots for £2. I have been after a pair for ages! Love them!
Ooooohh, tesco car boot in the morning - hope I can sleep ok as am excited, got so many bargains last year there (it is only on easter sunday.)My daughters are my world0 -
Popped into our local flea market today, had about ten minutes before I had to be at work so didn't get as much of a rummage as I would have liked. I love the flea market, eveything is 50p per item or 6 for £1, and there's absolutely tons of glassware - plates, glasses, ornaments, vases, bowls etc as well as some odd bits and bobs and pictures. The man running the majority of stalls annoys me though, he proper hassles you! Had a quick look around, picked one thing up and he went 'y'alright love?' which was fair enough, had another look around and he said the same, on the third time walking past him he goes 'I've got a carrier ready for you here love', I was like 'just leave me alone and let me browse in peace! Anyway.... here's what I got
A small light blue trinket box thing with a purple flower design on top, it's really small and pretty but I have no idea what I'm going to use it for! It looks like it should go on a dressing table but I don't have one (yet)
A large clear glass bowl, at first I thought it was a mixing bowl for the kitchen but now I've looked closer I think it's a decorative bowl so might put glass pebbles and floating candles in it instead.
A small white roasting dish
A small clear decorative bowl with an engraved swirly flower pattern
A chunky square glass candle holder.
A plain white photo frame, was thinking about gluing clear glass pebbles around it like this http://www.rufflesandstuff.com/2009/12/easy-fancy-pants-frames.htmlD'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

Enjoyed this morning's bootsale. Not had much luck the last 2 weeks since it opened. Today was very busy with buyers (guess they've got nowhere else open) but quite a lot of different sellers.
Bought something I've been thinking about making the 100mile round trip to Ikea for ....the Trofast storage system for £5. Retails at £74 with the boxes, will need to buy them separately which will be about £20 but perfect for me!!!
Also bought DD 3 excellent condtion My little pony's, a dora figure, and 3 books all for £2.
Might go for a wander round the BH monday one tomorrow, depending on what time I get up as need to be back for family visiting!0 -
Wow, what a come back into car booting - I had itchy feet after all those months of not rummaging around in people's second-hand wares and boy I'm glad I'm back doing it again!
I've been to two car boots this weekend, one yesterday and one today.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great for either of them but that didnt stop some sellers coming, braving the harsh winds etc. Sunday's car boot was significantly smaller though.
Sunday
A really nice oriental design umbrella/parasol - this could be used as a sun shade, it's made out of some sort of papery type of material and it has a really nice pattern on it! If I had the space, I would put it up indoors with the pattern on show, but my small 2 bed house doesn't have the facilities to accommodate it in its' larger state so I'll have to leave it in a cupboard for now. Paid the princely sum of £2!
I also got a lovely wooden carving of several elephants, which will look great on a shelf on display, also £2.
Monday
Many more good buys were on offer today, in fact, off the first stall I got a lovely pair of african drums, the furry type, these will also look great on display somewhere (not as big as the umbrella) a pair of them for £6
2 Vintage board games, I use the covers for scrapbooks etc as I love the old designs on them - a bit less pricey than buying off ebay as well! two for £1.50
Game boy advance with tv tuner (now irrelevant, unfortunately, thanks to the digital switchover) and three games. £5
My favourite bargain of the day has to be, a minature piano (17 keys) in a bright red paint, I would hazard a guess at it being quite old (40, 50 years) because of the design on the box. Unfortunately, I can't find anything about the company that made it but this will take pride of place on a table in the lounge, where I can have a quick mash about whenever I want to. I snapped it up at £3!
I'm happy to hear about everyone else's bargains and I hope you enjoy the new(ish) car boot season as much as I have!0 -
unfortunately, the car boot I planned to go to today was 'closed due to the weather':( Its sunny and shining here!!!!
hopefully I can go on the weekend though....looking forward to reading everyone's finds;)0
