Goanmad your blog gets better and better. Not just for the clothes you pick up for a pittance and wear with such an individual style, but your home. It's just how I'd like my home to be, filled with interesting and quirky objects but not to the point of saturation.
But please tell me you have a glory hole somewhere for all the stuff that needs restoration, ebaying, throwing out or haven't a clue what do with. The combination of this thread and your blog is threatening my entire declutter operation at chez lulu!!
Lulu - thanks for the lovely words!
I'm in the middle of a spring declutter. (She says after just listing another pile of stuff brought back this morning). Until last week my spare room was full of eBay boxes, vinyl, books and general tat picked up on our travels. Jon managed three trips to the tip and the BHA had a donation of three bin bags. Every photo on my blog usually involves a mad scuffle to shift the piles of books and kick aside the general clutter.0 -

I had four hours to kill while my passport was made up in Newport today and hubby had told me to go and buy myself some new clothes because I'm always wearing freebies and second hand ones these days. So I went in search of the charity shops!
First of all, a gorgeous patterned Rocha John Rocha dress with the quality control label intact and unwashed on the side hem label - so unworn surely? £4.50.
Pretty Primark layered-effect top - like a pretty cream blouse insert and sleeves with a sage t-shirt. It looks unworn too and a bargain at only £2.55.
M&S fitted linen-type trousers -navy and white stripes with buckle ... rather smart ... £4.50.
And best of all I found a Red Cross clearance shop - where as far as I could see all the clothes were marked down to only £1, including a BNWT trenchcoat. I got a full length beige sleeveless dress with belt - by George. Didn't bother trying it on at that price but it looks great - and is exactly what I was needing for a hot work trip.
One thing that appalled and upset me though - in one of the shops the staff/vols were being really loud and rude about an old man who was shopping in there - and spraying air freshener in his direction, following him around. Everyone deserves dignity and respect don't they? I'd certainly expect a charity shop and the people working or volunteering there to hold those values.0 -
I went jumbling yesterday and got
2 doughnut tins 10p each
Hornsea coffee pot £1
Blue and yellow spotty butter dish 50p
Some material for DS's fancy dress for school 10p
Oasis skirt 30p
Topshop skirt 30p
Jaegar dress 25p
1980's black drop wasit dress 25p
Laura Ashley Ditsy maxi dress 25p
Pied de terre boots 50p
Hotter shoes 50p think there was a couple more things but can't remember them
in the afternoon popped to the CS and got myself a pair of Next jeans 3.490 -

Can't wait to hear of everyone else's bargains.0 -
