Dragged 2 donation bags with me today though, so hopefully I'll get some good karma for my CS adventures at the weekend!

It shut last week, they are apparantly moving to another shop but haven't found one yet, let me know if you findout where / if theres a jumble sale, I keep checking the gazette on line but no luck, I have seen adverts for past ones in a church in mbro where you paid £1 to get in and could get as much stuff as you like- hope its one like that :rotfl:

Think I've found one in Berwick Hills - Google maps says it's not too far from North Ormesby where I live, but I'd probably get lost.

    Here's the link http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/gazette-communities/ts3-north-ormesby-to-park-end/ts3-north-ormesby-to-park-end-local-news/2010/02/23/church-of-ascension-jumble-sale-84229-25896617/

Bad news is I'm working 7-1 that day! :( So I'm going to try and do a shift swap with someone :D

Managed to swap my shifts tomorrow for a 2 o'clock start so I can go to my first ever jumble sale! Any tips from anyone, I get the feeling that I'll get elbowed out of the way of all the good bargains by the experienced jumblers so some ideas of what to expect would be nice! :)

Take your own large STRONG black bin bag. If it's a 'fill a bag for a fiver' type thing you can get so much more in without it ripping etc. If not it's still handy if like me you end up buying more than you thought you would. Jumbles i've been to hand out thin swing bin type bags but you can't pack much in them! ;)
  • Yep it's a 'fill a bag for a quid' one,I thought that they'd hand out some bags when you get there so everyone has the same size. I'll take a bin bag with me just in case but all I have is the cheapy thin ones so not sure how good it'll be! I was planning on taking some strong shopping totes and weekend bags so I could transfer anything I buy into these afterwards to make it easier to carry (I'm walking there and back )

You could always put one inside another. Just if you get anything with pointy edges (eg books) they make holes in thin bags, your bag splits and it all falls out. Nightmare!!
