My local carboot is open next weekend! It's meant to be year round but closed due to the bad weather for a couple of months. Can't wait!

Ooh thanks jtb - please could you tell me where. PM me if you would rather.
20 mins is fine for me to travel if a bootsale is on the cards
I adore Brighton, so much to do, even in this weather. I'm packing some warm clothing

It's at Ford Airfield Jesa, out of Brighton, past Worthing & Littlehampton going towards Bognor Regis. If you google it, it should come up. If you can't find it let me know and I'll give you more precise directions/details.

Bognor Regis is great for charity shops (best place IMO) ;) - going there tomorrow :D (supposed to be shopping for DH birthday pressie but planning to visit a few CS along the way :p.

Enjoy your few days Jesa ! xx (p.s. hope everything is ok your end xxxx)

Thanks Jtb - I'll google it and try to find a postcode so my sat nav can find it for me. Things are not at all good but I need a break desperately to build my strength back up for the bad times to come. A bootsale will take my mind off things for a little while

Jesa, PM me if you ever want to 'chat' xxx

How long are you down here for?

Back on subject (woops, sorry :o) I managed to get to 2 jumble sales and 1 car boot sale over the weekend. Had my mum and dad down and my dad's always a sucker for booties and CS :p. So, I dragged him round all the ones I could possibly get to :rotfl:.

1st Jumble was great, lots of bargains and it was the trefoil guild (girlguides) so everything was 20p per item. Bin bag full of clothes for £3, unworn red shoes for 20p and 2 handbags for 20p. Rather sorry I've listed some of them on E8ay now ....... I'm hoping they don't sell ! :rotfl:

2nd jumble was absolutely pants (literally !) ....... I wasn't keen on putting my hands in amongst this lot :( ..... I honestly can say it was all filthy items of clothing - stained, ripped, torn and even a few pairs of knickers/pants in amongst it all. Now I'm not fussy but this was THE worst sale I've been to. Most of it was only fit for the bin. If you went within 5ft of the shoes, well, let's just say it was best to hold your nose .

Anyway, a few CS bargains - pair of Ravel boots (original price tag on bottom, never worn, £75 - I paid £7.49 :j.) They're a bit tight round the calf but I'm losing weight so they WILL fit soon :rotfl:.

Dad got some jeans and jumpers and a pair of trainers (new) from the jumble that cost him the grand sum of 10p :T.

So, all in all a good weekend.

I'm currently scouring E8ay for some new clothes - I got rid of all my size 16 when I lost weight before (doh !). Not sure that I'll be brave enough to wear what I've bought so far (includes a red tulip style skirt) ........ I'm definitely having a major wardrobe and self-image/style issue at the moment and could probably do with being "Gok'd" !

Have been lurking on the fashion chat thread so might dip my toe in the water soon (completely envious of all their blogs, they're great and I'm such a disaster :o:p).

Anyway, rambled on enough, seem to have a bout of the proverbial atm :o. TTFN

I bought a vintage butterfly taxidermy glass globe thingy the other day for 75p.. yes, 75p and it's beautiful:

The butterflies are real on artificial flowers :)

I also bought two vintage maps of london in little wallets for £1.50 and a framed print of a little girl from the late victorian times for 75p :)

Also got a bundle of vintage lace for 50p..

I've picked up a vintage floral tea dress for 50p last summer, aswell as:
Vintage bridesmaid dress & bolero in immaculate condition (might reconstruct!) £3

I've picked up so much vintage ephemera, vintage sheet music, vintage buttons and linen.. Ive had to turn one of my wardrobes into my vintage-found stores for now!
Actually.. my entire spare room is kept for my 'junk' now.. hahaha!

Thanks, thats very kind of you:A
We're down for 3 nights, got some cheapo travelodge rooms so £60 all in! It usually costs us £100+ per night when we go to Brighton.

I can't wait for a god rummage around the Laines antiques shops and the vintage shops nearby. We're planning to purchase our wedding bands in the antique jewellery shops, that was our reason for going.

What is the fashion chat thread you mention?
